From the Disney affiliate program manager:

It has come to our attention that an in-store coupon (1699) is being used online. This coupon was not intended for the affiliate channel and no commissions will be honored if this code is used to purchase items. Please be sure to make appropriate announcements to your customers and remove any references to this coupon on your site. Thank you.

Uh-Oh. I seen it twice on here yesterday.

Guilty! I read about the code on the DIS and used it yesterday. I didn't think I would get SR % back since the code wasn't on this site, but I didn't think it would hurt to use it here anyway. The 15% was good enough to take the chance.

Have I messed something up for SR? I thought you could use another code at your own risk, but not complain if you didn't get credit. Should I cancel the order? Are they going to be upset with SR?

Sorry for any trouble!

If they do it right, they just shouldn't give us the commissions on them.

Ack! I didn't do this, but I honestly am confused sometimes which codes are OK and which are not. More often than not I have a code and just try and 'chance it' with getting my SR credits back. If they come thru, awesome, if not, that's OK, I still saved some money. But I wouldn't want to screw things up for SR either.

I'm sorry. I didn't think I would get SR credit, but I thought the traffic through your site would be a good thing, instead of a bad thing. I thought it was good to keep the numbers up for shopping merchants, even if there was no commission involved. Shows how little I know sometimes . . .

Thats ok I did use that code but only on one order that i thought would not credit because of that code it was a better % then the SR... But i hope my other orders that used only codes posted on disneyshopping.com will credit only time will tell!

Ack, I think that is my fault. Though, I didn't go through SR when using the code, and did note that in my original thread. Tricia, I'm so sorry if I caused any major problem for you.:(

I'm not really worried about this one. They sent this email out to all of the affiliates, and some probably actually promoted it. We'll be fine. I just wanted to get it out there ASAP so no one else used it. :sunshine:

So Tricia I have a question. I placed a Disney Shopping order before Halloween and used a % off code. It didn't credit. No big surprise, just figured it was because of the code and didn't file a TT.

In the future should we not go through SR to place a Disney Shopping order if we are going to use a code that's not listed? Is that the safest way to do it?

Disney Shopping is usually perfectly fine with people using the other codes, because they often list them on their website. I think this was just a weird exception because this code was not supposed to be used online AT ALL.

Ummm...so can I file a trouble ticket then?

Wellll....they let them slip through if they pay them automatically. But I'm not sure I should bring it to their attention that we use them. LOL!

Well now I just plain feel icky. I had no clue it was not an online code, I just saw it posted online where someone used it. Now I feel like a cheatin' thief! You're talking about a woman who will go back into the store to pay for a pack of gum forgotten in the cart!! I'll have to check out DIS and see if they've been informed. So what was it a catalog/phone code or something?

It sounds like it was some kind of code in the actual disney stores. I'm not sure how it even worked online???

Oh, that's really strange indeed.

I double checked the numbers, it definitely took them both, plus the free ship. Well, now I have to figure out how to get my karma back from outta whack. Maybe I'll order one of my parkhoppers through them instead, that would be about the difference I would have saved buying from the discount dealer. I'm sure my $10 is a drop in the bucket to them, but I don't need any bad karma overflowing in my bucket

LOL!! The good news is that you probably did not cost them anymore using your code than what you would have if you used a different code and got an SR rebate. So it's probably the same to them in the end. They just want US to understand why they aren't paying commissions on them.

I hear you. I had no idea it wasn't an online code, especially since I found it online! I have been feeling guilty all day that I am going to bring down SR since I used the code. I'm about ready to go pay full price for something, all over $3 saved! :rotfl:

Both of ya'll, don't be so hard on yourselves. It was nothing like the cookie caper. :p :sunshine: I looked, but stopped myself from buying anything else. I had seen it online a couple of times yesterday on various sites. If it was not an online code, I don't know how we could have known that.

I agree completely. These things happen and you had no ill intentions. :)

Tricia,

I have a pending credit for this order, despite using the code that I was not supposed to. What do I need to send to you to fix this, or did Disney decide to pay a commission after all?

Lots of stress here over 68 cents that I am not entitled to! :rotfl:

Thank you!

I rec'd credit too, but I didn't click through SR when I placed the order. I may have done it earlier in the week or through the forum (does that count when we go through the forum?).

Weird thing is I rec'd credit on 1 of my items of $16.99. I rec'd $0.40, which would be 4% of $16.99 less the 30% and 15% ($10.10).

But, I ordered 4 of them, my total order was $40.44.

I can see now why it is important to clear cookies before shopping through SR. Had I been a person who uses alot of gpt or shopping ebate sites, and clicked there, then here, that cookie would have been on my system and wouldn't have gotten SR. I just didn't even think to clear them b/c I went directly to disney.com.

Not complaining, I specifically didn't go through SR b/c I was using so many codes, so I didn't mean to get anything at all!!!! I'm just confused, as usual!!! :p
