....and now that we are just a little over 3 months away, thought I would put a thread out there to ask about things I could stash away for my kids to surprise them when we are there.

I already got dd(will be 10) a little minnie mouse necklace from the disney store and they will each have a $5 gc from our trip to paradise pier (thanks to Michael!) to have fun spending on candy or whatever in addition to their own earned disney dollars.
We also have shirts I have bought from the disney store that none of us are wearing until we arrive and I will be assisting my mom-who is an amazing seamstress-on making a few disney customs...nothing terribly fancy, just some matching mouse silhouette tees and shorts.

So what have you 'surprised' your kids with upon arrival at the World?

Glow sticks/ wands from the Dollar Tree to use at night during the parades or just walking around.

This past trip, I bought both kids new personalized ears from disneystore.com and left them in the room for the kids to find when we got back one night.

We don't really do the pin trading, but I bought the kids a few pins from disneystore.com that they would like and left those in the room.

On one of the first nights of the trip, I had DH buy some candy from one of the shops and we left that in the room for the kids the next night. I just printed up some cute character note cards to leave with the stuff on the bed.

cute! we do the glow stick thing so I'm all over that! I also got some battery operated blinking hair braids and buttons for the kids so we don't get caught wanting to have park nightime items and pay thru the nose.
My son is totally into star wars and I'd love to get him a mickey and minnie luke and leia set and have it there but not sure how to go about that?

Congratulations on your trip! I'm sure you will have a blast!! We will be there in October too for DGS's 4th b-day trip. All of them get to go with Nana for their 4th b-day.;) Well, except for the little one who goes with me all the time!:D

I would first look for the set on Amazon or on Ebay, then if you don't find it there, call Disney Merchandising and have them send it to you.

Also, if you are a little crafty, you can make them a cute autograph book to get the character's autographs. DD19 and I went one time to a dance competition there and that's all she wanted to do was get pictures and autographs--she was 12!! I thought she would have resisted--to old-- but she was all into that!

Post pictures of your custom outfits! I bet they will be too cute!!
