We're going to be testing out some of the different banner companies that we met at the conference last week for possible inclusion on SR. Would some of you mind clicking on this link periodically and checking out the page and letting me know if you see anything "weird"? I mean like porn-type banner ads, gambling ads, ads that try to download anything on your computer, etc? We've got a newsfeed on the page, so it should at least have interesting information each time that you visit it. And it should update itself with new stuff every few hours.

thank you!!

That's strange. It just worked for me. Try it again. I wonder if you might have something blocking the ads?

I tried it again. The page pops up and then I get the "IE cannot open Helpingmoms. Operation Aborted. " Then it goes to the Page cannot be found page.

Ok I just tried the link again. It had a banner about wanting to stop spam. Then after the page loaded I got an IE error message box popping up (same one as above) and when I click ok it closes out that IE window.

I had the same thing display as Catherine, but my browser wasn't affected, it is still open.

There is a small 2" x 2" box that slid out from the left that says "Do you want to block junk emails?"

It looks like a Windows prompt, same colors, header bars etc, but it is actually an ad. I didn't click it, so maybe that is why mine stayed open?

Interesting. I wonder if it is the type of "invue" ad I was trying. I just took that one off. Now you should just see a banner at the top and a banner on the right.

The page displays fine, but there is an IE error prompt (shows in bottom left of browser)...the kind you get if a line of code is off/wrong..."Done but with errors on the page" w/ a little yellow warning symbol.

Line: 37
Char: 1
Error: Object expected
Code: 0

URL: http://www.helpingmomsconnect.com/news.htm

I know I get these sometimes when I remove something that was run by a javascript, like a fragment got left in the code somewhere.

It doesn't affect how the page is displaying though.

Does it seem like you are getting some ads that are targeted to you geographically?
