This looks like such a neat idea! I recently had heard about it from my Disney Mom's site. I just checked it out further, and unfortunately, I already own almost every dvd they have listed :p I'll have to come up with another disney fanatic to give it to as a gift!! :sunshine:

I just signed my grandson up for the 6 month program. I'm thinking they will keep adding movies as time goes on. He loves to watch movies.
Tricia.......Since this is under merchant instead of offers, will we get the $10.00 back for every membership or is it limited to one per SR account??
Thanks!

Man I feel dumb. When I scanned the first post yesterday on here I thought it was a club with disney movies specifically for 3month olds, 6 month olds, 9 month olds, and 12 month old kids and was like I have no use for this but its a cool idea. Duh Catherine!!
I think I'll be looking into this after the 1st of the year as well. I love disney movies and need to upgrade my old vhs tapes as well.

I ordered 3 different gifts. 2 for 6 months and one for 3 months. They all credited. The first one within a couple of days right when Tricia first posted this. The 2nd was right before Christmas, and the 3rd was right after Christmas. The 2nd and 3rd Tricia pushed through before the end of the quarter. I received $10 for each of the 3 orders.
The 6 months were for my kids who both are in their late 20's and live on their own. They were BOTH thrilled. 3 month was for me to get some movies I was missing. I already received my first DVD.
I think it's great and I would do it again! I just might too. My nephew's birthday is at the end of the month. He's going to be 9 so the 3 month would be perfect for him.

Awesome! Thanks Kathie! Now that the holidays are over, I'm all over getting this...for myself & DH!! :p
Did you pick the option to pick the movies for the reciepent or allow them to pick each month? Since it's for us, I'm wondering if I picked them all now if I could change one later?? I'm thinking of doing the 12 month plan simply because I need to exchange so many of my VHS to DVD...which soon enough will be obsolete won't they...sigh...

I did both. I let my kids pick their own and I picked all mine at once. I think my daughter said she only picked out a couple and will pick the others out later.
My first one was in my queue to ship right away so I couldn't have changed that one. I just went and looked and there is an option to change or remove the other 2 dvd's in my queue so the answer to your question is yes.
Keep an eye out to see which movies are being pulled and get those first. Disney does that from time to time and I think there are a couple being pulled January 31st. Any that don't get sold in any stores have to be sent back to Disney after that date.
I just checked the Disney Movie Club (different club) and Aladdin, Aladdin II & III Collection, Cinderella, Cinderella III and Cinderella II all disappear January 31st. Not sure if any of them are available on DVD EXpress or if you will get them if you put them in your queue.
I'm not big on the sequels but I do like to get the originals. As a matter of fact...I don't think we have Aladdin....I know we have Cinderella. Guess I'd better go buy it.
If you want them.....join the Disney Movie Club through SR and order them right away. You get 3 DVD's for $1.99 plus $10.00 credits. There is a commintment with the Disney Movie Club but if you want these disappearing dvd's......you'll most likely meet it.
Nope..........I don't work for Disney!! :rotfl:

3 Month was $59.85, 6 month was $107.70. No tax in RI and free shipping. The more months you get the less expensive the DVD's. I think if you get the 12 months, it's $14.95 a dvd. They do charge your CC in advance for the entire amount.
The good thing is they ship once a month so with kids, it's like getting a present every month instead of a whole load of DVD's at once like a book of the month club. Leave it to Disney to think of that!

That is why I only got the 3 month. I figured if it is still available after this subscription expires, I will do another 3 month one. With the $10 credit, I think it would be worth it. I think dvd's can play on the Blue Rays (that's what seems to be winning out). I think they have the same thing going for them that the play stations do where you can play a PS1 game on a PS2 but not a PS3 on the PS2.
Anyways I think I might give the 3 month thing a try and see how it goes. I need to pull out my disney dvd movie checklist and compare to the site to see which ones I need to order.

okay, I was starting to get worried about what if my husband was wrong. He really is up in all this (he is very rarely wrong) but I wanted to make sure I gave good info. And yes he was right, here is a quote from blueraythemselves.
Will Blu-ray be backwards compatible with DVD?
Yes, several leading consumer electronics companies (including Sony, Panasonic, Philips, Samsung, Pioneer, Sharp and LG) have already demonstrated products that can read/write CDs, DVDs and Blu-ray discs using a BD/DVD/CD compatible optical head, so you don't have to worry about your existing DVD collection becoming obsolete. In fact, most of the Blu-ray players coming out will support upscaling of DVDs to 1080p/1080i, so your existing DVD collection will look even better than before. While it's up to each manufacturer to decide if they want to make their products backwards compatible with DVD, the format is far too popular to not be supported. The Blu-ray Disc Association (BDA) expects every Blu-ray Disc device to be backward compatible with DVDs.

The reason I've never done the movie club is because it takes so long for new releases to be included, and if the policy is different for the express service, then I'd jump on it!! I have all the classics that have been released on dvd, so I don't need many of the ones they have listed right now (unless I start to collect the live-action ones too......like we need more dvd's LOL!!!). :sunshine:

Quick question.... I know it's been said that it's a shopping offer and can be done more then once. I think I'm finally ready to do it, but my question is since this is a "shopping" credit does this post 3/22 days after ordering or will it go as pending like an offer for the following month?
It makes a difference for me, bc I can hold out another week and wait so this credit counts towards next quarter's SM status if it's a shopping credit I'll get in 3 days. If it posts as an offer and goes pending until 4/15 I'll do it now.
I already have two that I want/need but again I can wait a week depending on the credit.
Thanks

It'll post in 3 days like a shopping credit not hold till the 15th so you might want to hold out a little longer if you want it for next quarter
Thanks for answering so fast! That's what I thought but wanted to double check. I really want Enchanted and Aristicats now..... But I can wait a week + to put it towards next quarter!

I thought about that but I've been buying most of them as they come out, quite a few during the holidays too, so I probably will do it twice if it's still available but probably not until later in year.

It came out the last day we were in Disney, so DH was pretty gung-ho about going to see it the week we came back. So we have seen it, but DD5 loved it, first movie I ever saw her cry! So I do want it again for our collection and bc the girls are dying to see it again.
They've never seen 101 Dalmations which I bought when it came out but still haven't watched yet or Aristicats.
I probably would have done this offer/shopping credit before but all the stores always put them on sale the week they come out and right around xmas I got The Jungle Book, Ratiuolle (sp?) and a few others for 13.99-15.99. a piece.

Yeah, I've been buying them right along as they were released, just out of habit. So I purposely didn't buy 101 Dals and Enchanted. And I know there are a couple others coming out this year, so I'm SURE I'll be able to come up with enough choices.

I bought the 12 month and I went in and picked the movies that I needed to replace in our stock of movies. I usually just buy the new releases as soon as they come out. I may end up doing another set so that I can buy duplicates of these new releases because I am trying to get a set that I can keep on the side that wont get so messed up from use.
