Okay so I tried these detox foot pads on gaiam and OMG! I am a total believer. They work so well in just overall making you feel better.

A neighbor of mine was telling me about them. She said hers turned a really yucky color supposedly removing the toxins from her body? She wasn't sure if they really did anything but figured it couldn't hurt. I don't think she noticed a big difference in the way she felt. I'm tempted to try them though. Did you really notice a difference? In what way? Tell me more, lol!

Well I couldn't fit into my jeans. And one of the things it tells you is bloating. So the first night I put one on and yesterday my jeans were loose. I am also found that my sinuses feel so much better. I was getting a cold and it has kinda leveled out. I can't tell you much about today but I am really into the detox thing and I hope it does more but those are the first two things.

How often are you supposed to use it? I see there are 10 in a pack? Do you use one on each foot for 5 nights in a row? Or only when you need a detox?

You are suppose to use them till they are clear one foot a night alternating.

Oh goodness! That could be expensive for me, lol! I have a feeling mine won't be clear for a good long time!:rotfl: How many have you used? Are you clear yet?

Only 2 they are black as black can be. It looks like I didn't bathe. LOL! But I can tell you what it is like after 10 days.

DH says I'm sure it's not real, it's probably always black, etc....so be sure to tell us how it works by your 10th day!! I can't wait to hear about it!!

I'm so curious about these too! I didn't realize we could get them thru SR. That might the extra incentive I need to try them.

Keep the reviews coming on these Kim!

I have not heard of these. This intrigues me! I am always told that when you have Fibromyalgia, you need to "detox". Let us know! Very interesting....

Angela I have fibromyalgia too and it is really bad in my feet and hands. I wonder how well these would work. I have found that laying off of red meats and caffiene works really well so I would bet that detoxing the body of the yucky stuff would be a huge help. I may just have to try them out. My hands were so swollen today from it I couldn't even get my rings on. If it just helped with the fluid build up it would be awesome.

Okay, now I'm intrigued. Do you think that Ped Egg I ordered will help get the black jelly stuff off my feet? :rotfl:

So, Kim, any update? How are you doing with these? I'm still considering these, but have to pay off Christmas first!

I am very interested in these too. I totally believe in natural healing and practice a lot of holistic therapies myself. I went to a dermatologist for YEARS after struggling with adult acne (never had it in my life until I was about 25) and after years of aggravation and trying every cream, lotion, potion, and pill available, I met my holistic nurse (who I still see today)

I won’t go into detail, because it weirds some people out, but she had me start colon cleansing...not only did I lose 8 pounds my face cleared up, I felt awesome and I never had acne since!! Gosh get me started...I love this stuff!!

And I can't wait to hear more about the foot pads...actually I think I'll just get them LOL

Well I haven't seen a ton of examples or changes but I have seen some.

Water retention reduced
Circulation has increased
And constipation is almost null and void

I would say they work but some people would say it is in my head.

I don't know what is in these foot things, but DH tells me that his mom used the same sort of thing on herself and her family, and she would have learned it in her tiny village in rural Korea. Which means it's a pretty old practice. And of course reflexology involves the feet as the way to heal the body. So just b/c a Western country has jumped on it doesn't mean it's quackish, it's very likely rooted in ancient healing methods, and those are being proven correct (leeches, anyone?) more and more!

DH had some of these and I used them. I felt less tired in one day! Wanted to get more but $30 is a lot. Avon has them but it doesn't say how many in a package.

Any other places (SR of course!) that have them? Or should I just get them from Gaiam?

So far, I have only found them at Gaiam and Amazon.

I have been using the detox pills that were (still are???) on SR. I also think that it works well. I am almost on my 2nd shipment. I am usually a constipated person, but am doing pretty well now. Not so bloated and I have a bit more energy. I thought about the pads, however, since I am on the pills, I probably should wait until my 2nd shipment is gone, then try the pads. I really am sold on this detox thing.

I just started using the pads (2nd night last night) and I also agree about the 'bloated' feeling disappearing.......and yes I do have more energy in just 2 days (definately not a mind thing, because I am not a morning person and I really do feel better in the am today!)

I am going to order some more for me and for my sister (she is really excited about trying them). The past 2 mornings she has wanted to see 'what I have shed from my body' as she likes to say..........the pads do look pretty gross, but hey if it works I can stand a little nasty black pad.

Any update from anyone as to how long it took for a foot to 'run clear'? I am considering trying them.

As I understand Kim's post you alternate every other foot and use it every day.

Thanks for the info.

I used them for 20 days and thought that they did help. I was feeling less tired and didn't get any headaches during that period (frequent sufferer). They never really got clear, so either they don't or I am just loaded with toxins! My friend sells Avon, so I ordered a set from her and will see how they compare, if I don't like them , I'll order again from Gaim.

They are worth it just for the more "awake'" feeling you get in the AM.

Well I ordered some yesterday. Actually, I got my Mom to order them and we're both going to try them. I'll let you know what happens.

Just read this thread. This sounds like something I need, just for being able to feel awake in the am. I'm really bad in the am.

I ordered some a bit ago & they arrived yesterday. DH & I both tried them last night so today is "day 1". I feel like they have helped two main things so far:

Neither of us are morning people & this morning I felt more "alert" while I was getting ready & driving to work
For weeks now my sinuses have been quite clogged when I wake up & although they weren't perfect this morning I'd say that they were about 80% better than they have been in ages

I'm not sure about DH's review because he was just waking up when I left for work.

I would describe them as being similar to tea bags. There's a mesh "baggie" with a dry substance inside it (kind of like dry tea leaves) that you attach to the bottom of your foot with a large piece of adhesive. In the morning, it looks like the tea bag has been steeped in water because it's kind of moist & has turned black.

The only thing is that I'm not completely sure of which way to "orient" them. The part that actually does the work is rectangular so I'm not sure if it goes across your foot or back-to-front. The pictures on the box and on the various papers in the back aren't very clear because they do show each option. We did them across last night so I guess that might be part of the experiment too, haha.

I haven't ordered mine yet but I am going to. They have talked about these for years on a Holistic website I am a memeber of. These have been around a long time and have received great reviews!

Tried the as seen on TV ones last night. Tricia wasn't kidding about the smell. There's definitely gunk on them. My foot don't look any less swollen, though.

Iused my last pad last night and the thing was still just as black as the first night. I know I felt better from using them and some swelling in my knee went away. Wonder how long you have to use them for them to be white in the morning? I know the box said 30 - 90 days, that could sure add up. Anyone done them past the first box. If I order more it will be after the first of the month so I can work on my balance for next quarter. I found another brand that does not cost as much and have ask about getting that company on SR.

Did anyone else see the 20/20 special tonight? They had a segment on these basically claiming that they're not effective. I've used them for about 3 weeks and haven't noticed much change at all. They do have a 30 day money back guarantee, I wasn't really considering this, because I thought maybe I was one of the few who didn't see any results, but now I'm thinking I'd rather have the money back. I'm curious if other people watched this show and felt the same as me.

I was wondering if anyone watched 20/20 tonight. I didn't get to but was curious since they had this product on there. I might try youtube so I can see the story.

Catherine, it was pretty interesting. They basically had people try them out and then tried to determine if the effects were mental or actually a physical response. Then they had scientists study the foot pads, but they found no toxins in them, and basically said it's not really possible to excrete toxins through your feet. Most likely it's just the moisture in your feet (distilled water produced the same results) that make the pads black. I'm still sort of on the fence though, I hate to say it, but I've always had circulation problems and feeling cold, and I've ffelt much better since using them. So I think it all depends on that age old question of if it actually works, or if it's in your mind. And if it's only in your mind, but it still makes you feel better, isn't that OK?

I'm giving this a bump as I finally bought these and tried them last night. I also watched the 20/20 segment this morning. Not very encouraging is it??

I do feel better this morning, more energy. We'll see how it lasts through the day.

One question.........what do you use to get rid of the smell?? That is disgusting. :(

I have tried two different types of these foot pads (one from Gaiam & one from somewhere else). Based on the short time that I used each type, I'd say that you get what you pay for. I felt like there was a slight change when using the ones from Gaiam as I posted above a while ago (increased energy, clearer sinuses, loss of some water weight, etc.) but the other ones didn't do a single thing. I would like to use the Gaiam ones again for a longer period when I have some money available, but for the other ones I'll stick with "if you can't say something nice don't say anything at all".
