Can anyone respond to this over there? I was banned years ago...

I actually just ordered Smiley Cookies this week for our Super Bowl party. I also ordered them as favors for Jillian's birthday last month. Love them!

I know- I still think that was crazy for them to ban you!! I usually try to search for SR threads weekly, but just let me/ us know when you need something responded to!:)

Drives me crazy that you can't be there, too.

I once got a warning for, among two things, mentioning my sunshine forum username there. (The other thing could easily have looked like a "use me for a referral" moment, but it wasn't what was in my heart at all.)

I left my opinion too. Maybe you could get reinstated by contacting them? or just keep sending in the mafia, you know we will jump at the chance to help! :D

I don't know if you would be interested in coming back to the DIS, but they are easing up on some advertisers.

SunshineGirl
02-02-2011, 09:21 AM
I actually had tried to contact them but they wouldn't even respond to my emails. I had even been sponsoring their local meetups! And all that I did was answer a question that someone posted about SR and they banned me. It was the craziest thing! Then they set their system so that people can't even post links to SR.

Wow. I just read the thread over there. Seems like a couple of people REALLY do not like Sunshine Rewards!! Thanks to those of you who are sticking up for us. It seems like the nay-sayers always come crawling out of the woodwork as soon as anyone says anything positive.

Yes, it certainly took a different spin. And one of the most vocal ones, had a post just last month on the DIS that SR is a great site...even though she is saying now that she left SR over a year ago because of problems.

They are nasty over there which I why it's a forum I choose not to be part of. The good will prevail Tricia!

And of course now the usual accusation that people who post things that are positive about SR must be on the SR payroll. It can't be that anyone legitimately has had a good experience.

<sigh>

If I could post, I would share with them that it is not my responsibility to know the Disney travel agent code of conduct. How in the world would I know what the rules are that Disney travel agencies have to abide by??? I do know that I am approached about once a week by other Disney travel agencies asking to get added to SR but I have to decline them because I made a deal with MU. So apparently there are a lot of travel agencies looking to make the same kind of deals.

Thank you!

For the record, Disney has no rules regarding what we can do with our commissions. We've read every word in every one of their commission agreements, travel agent website, and copyright documents - not a peep about anything of the sorts. Besides, we have a dedicated Disney Sales Manager who knows who we are and what we do. There's no room or place for funny business.

We wouldn't dare do anything to jeopardize our license or right to sell Disney travel. In fact, every square inch of our website and stationery is in compliance with Disney's 20-page copyright and trademark regulation document. We also use our client's credit card information and process payments directly with Disney, while many agencies will charge the client's card themselves and then make a payment to Disney using their agency card - which is STRICTLY forbidden, not only by Disney, but by most travel suppliers.

We charge our clients full price - never a discounted rate (excluding Disney discount offers, of course). In exchange, we offer "referral commissions" or "finders fees" to our beloved SR member clients, through SR. You can word it however you want, there's nothing illegal or "against the rules" about it - period. It's our commission, and we can do whatever we want with it. We've chosen to share it with all of you!

We can only assume that the person who posted those things on the DIS is a disgruntled Disney Travel Agent who wanted to be an SR Partner at some point. There's no other reason to post such things unless there's a grudge. We've had a couple of "interesting" clients (who ultimately cancelled because they were mad that neither Disney or Mouse Unlimited would honor their stolen or fictitious PIN/discount codes), but I don't think they were even SR members. Not to sound like I'm bragging, but I don't think we have many enemies

We are eternally grateful to Tricia for her faith and support in Mouse Unlimited, and we cherish the relationship we have with Sunshine Rewards - not to mention the MANY SR members who have become clients (and repeat clients) of ours.

Please don't let a few crazies on the internet tarnish your impression of us. We look forward to a long and prosperous relationship for Mouse Unlimited, Sunshine Rewards, and SR members! :)

I wasn't able to read the whole thread before it was deleted, but a big thank you to the SR members who stuck up for us. :thanks:

I also believe the people posting this thread had other motives. If I needed any further evidence of that, the first poster claimed we had been "turned in" several times. We have never been contacted or questioned about what we do, and we certainly don't hide it.

We have had slanderous things said about us on the Disboards in the past, and I'm so disappointed to see this happen. Thankfully some moderator saw something inappropriate enough to close the thread. MU is me and Tom, so if someone says something negative, we take it personally.

I think anyone who has used us will know that we love what we do and working with all of our clients and we would never jeopardize that relationship.

So sorry you guys got caught in that kind of mess. I wonder sometimes how people have the time and energy to post that kind of stuff.

And for those considering using Mouse Unlimited - they are great. Tom was so patient even with all the questions of an uber planner and hassles of dealing with international mail. It made for much less stress on my part! The SR credit was just the bonus on top of the great service.

Glad it was deleted! I didn't see it but have seen other threads where opinions - good and bad - are shared, usually in a civil way.

And, I also found SR throught the DIS Boards so althought some people are petty, others really do share some great info!! ;)

Ironically, we had a whole rash of new signups come in today, a few of them specifically mentioning that it was because of the thread on the DIS. LOL So the people trying to make us look bad actually just got us a lot of attention.

What's that old saying about no publicity is bad publicity. :p

SR and MU, don't worry about them saying bad stuff about your companies. No one believes it but the voices in their heads and with that many voices, who needs them anyway!;) I haven't booked through MU "YET" but nothing that was said there would sway me at all, just like I wouldn't not stay at the All Star resorts because they said I shouldn't.

I got a request from someone from the UK over at the DIS. You can't even type Sunshine Rewards anymore, it is blocked out. Even in a PM. Anyways, I told the person to come over to these forums to see if people from the UK are allowed to take surveys. Did anyone enquire yet?

I'm so annoyed that I missed that thread. I've used SR, I've used MU (you don't do the Nick Hotel as well, do you?), and I'm definitely not on anyone's payroll (especially since hotels has forsaken me it seems)....

One can still type sunshine and rewards, just not smooshed together, FWIW.

I use search engines to go to most sites I visit, and for some reason that particular page kept popping up and I accidentally clicked on it a few times. I don't ever get the cached page when I click on it, just the message that says "invalid thread." It's probably for the best, I'm kind of glad I missed whatever crazy went on.

Kayla...probably better off. I stopped reading that thread about half way through. Just disgusted! You guys rock, and anytime I get a chance (and many other times just thrown in) I sing your praises! I owe you that. (If you ask Tom, he will tell you that I am the crazy one that changed my resort five times in the course of a month, and ended up getting family of the day twice in one trip!). So the MouseUnlimited Army will squash the bad press. LOL

HEy that was me that started the thread...(do I get referals for all the people that joined because of my thread...lol)

What I didnt like was they closed my thread and didnt even tell me that it was closed. I tried to go back and read it cause there actually was some useful info in there but nope it is gone.

Also I had never considered using a travel agent but that thread now has me saying why not. Not sure who I will use (probably whoever gives me the best reward) but what they said doesnt make me Not want to use MU...It was easy to read between the lines with these posts...Actually if MU is giving a cash reward they will probably be on the top of my list...

Hoping to go to Disney last week of Jan so would love to have a $500 gc by then...thinking I would need to cash in by end of Nov to make sure I get it in time. So that is 8 months, $62.50 a month or like $2 a day. I think I can do that.
