Let's hope your post goes to REI's ears. I've been hoping to get 'em for about a year now. :sunshine:

Though I will say that since a recent purchase had to be made away from REI (funny, they don't carry Coleman King sized air mattresses, go figure), I did do some searchiing around and found some good prices elsewhere. Especially b/c I'm charged tax on REI (though not shipping as I have it sent to the store) if I can find a site that doesn't charge WA tax, even if the price is a little higher than REI, the tax and SR money back can start making a difference. And since the REI co-op rebate doesn't go together with sale items, and since I almost NEVER buy anything there NOT on sale, I rarely have to factor in that money back in my price.

Long story to say that I checked out Sierra Trading Post through SR the other day and found some really good prices and lots of same items as REI.

And I bought the air mattress through CSN stores, got credit almost immediately, and it's out for delivery today. :sunshine:

So I'm finding that some things can be bought elsewhere (though not everything; I get to pick up our cooking pot at REI today!) for the same or better prices than REI.:p

That tax thing would be annoying - luckily, I'm in PA, so no tax on the clothes. The "local" store has just moved a bit further away from me, so I'll have to weigh the gas vs. shipping costs when I go to buy from them!! I like Sierra for a few things for me, but he's into the fancy biking shirts now & found one he wants from REI, so I'm hoping it can be added!! He doesn't ask for much, so I at least want to get him the one he likes!

Thats right. Back when they had the fees waived, I stocked up on about 600.00 worth of MyCHoice gift certs , in 50.00 increments so I can change them in for what I want and paid no fees at all.

ETA: If you buy say a 300.00 MychoiceGiftCard cert, you pay the fee once of 1.95, get your cash back, less the 1.95 which is like 7.05 clear then, but you would need to cash in the entire 300.00 for gift cards all at once to avoid any other fees.

We've been slowing down a bit on applying for new programs because about 75% of the time when someone requests one and we add it, they don't make a purchase. :( Then we are in danger of getting kicked out of the program if we can't make a sale pretty quickly. And if we get kicked out, we may not be able to get back in again in the future. So please, if you are requesting stores...let it be because you plan on purchasing and not because you are just window shopping.

This isn't a problem anymore *for me* since they were added (after my need for them was done for now, drat), but the search won't work for terms 3 letters or under. So searching for REI did absolutely NO good whatsoever, b/c the search would fail saying that it was too short and needed a proper search term.

Doesn't cause a problem for most searches, but every so often it might fail b/c the term is too short.

I've always loved loved loved real whipped cream (it's what I grew up with), and now that I see the effects of eating so much processed stuff I love it even more. Only organic whipping cream made with a splash of vanilla and some powdered sugar! :)

Oh, I totally understand. Over the past several years, I've made substantial changes in the way we eat. I do try to buy and eat as little processed foods as possible, and make alot more from scratch along with using organic and natural products as much as possible. I did switch from using Cool Whip to Redi Whip which is actually an improvement if you read the label. Just haven't gotten around to the "real" whip yet.

That sounds like a neat thing. Similar to flylady but in a checklist format which I love. It might not be the type of program Tricia can give us the $$ for shopping through but it might be a good one she can put up to fund forum games and prizes. I bet a lot of people would use it.
