I have had very little luck getting any credits for freebies and have gotten NOTHING from the paid emials. I have had only 2 credit since November, the one I tried yesterday, nothing. I have used a different email and even a different computer. I am so tired of clicking through 15 or so pages and filling in all the info and getting nothing.

Just really venting, it has been a crappy day all around.

I am moving to the technical issues section. If you post some general info such as:
Operating system
Internet Browser
Internet connection type
email account (ie yahoo, gmail, hotmail)
antivirus software
firewall software
cookie settings

We can try to troubleshoot with you.

Since over 99% of all offers will credit, there seems to be a problem on your end. I know I run daily AVG and all sorts of stuff, I clear my cookies, and do this and that, and I had a dry spell of about a month. Then, I got a new gmail addy, and now most of them are crediting for me.I also had cleared my cookies 3 times once right after the other and all my temp internet files. There is definately something blocking, maybe a firewall or your service provider, or something because everyone else can get credits and you be the only one that doesn't shows its not on our end,so clearly there is a reason for that which is beyond SR. Maybe someone with more technical knowledge on here can help you, you might even want to do a search for the problem and see what it brings up, but it seem all of us for some odd reason have had this problem at one time or another.

Are you a new memebr who has just been doing it for a little while or have you been a member for a time and used to get credits but they aren't showing up now? This makes a difference because it could be that your computer isn't set up right in its settings to let things credit. If you have always gotten credit before and you suddenly aren't then there are options we can look at to figure out why they aren't making it through on your end. We have had ALOT of credits in the past few days so you should have seen at least some credits. Since you aren't there is something blocking you on your end. A little more info might help us to figure it out for you.

TRUE
I had this problem after months and doing everything right. SO I added ccleaner and took a few weeks off. That did the trick. I think the biggest things are
1. clearing cookies either not at all or too soon
2. you may need a new email address
3. making sure your cookies are set to accept all
4. you may have some odd cookies hanging around and need to add some sort of cleaner to get those buggers
5. just taking some time off and then coming back

Well, thanks for the answers. Since I did an offer yesterday on a brand new cleaned machine, I don't know what else it is. I have never had much success with the offers, once in a while they work. I haven't tried to do any for at least 3 or more weeks, either.

As far as clearing cookies and history and temp files, that is all well and good, but I do a lot more than offers on my computer and I clearing everything means having to reinput all my banking info, all my IDs and passwords at sites, etc. That's why I decided to do the offer on the "clean" machine". I have tried different emails, too. I think it is just me.

Well, like I said, it is a crappy day all around. But thanks to everyone for the suggestions.

If it is a new machine then the chances are that you have your settings wrong. If you have your settings to block cookies then you won't get credit for anything. You have to make sure that the settings are such that the cookies can be set and retrieved. If you give us more info we can help you fix the issues.

I've been having trouble getting credits for freebies as well. In the past, I've gotten credit for about 40% of the offers but now I'm not getting anything! It is very frustrating. I did recently download Mcafee through Comcast and they may have something to do with it. I have tried using my kids computer and my computer at work but nothing seems to work. I do get credit for the daily surveys, paid clicks, emails, scratch off and shopping though.

Here's my info:

Operating system -- Windows XP
Internet Browser -- IE 7
Internet connection type -- cable modem
email account (ie yahoo, gmail, hotmail) -- yahoo
antivirus software -- cyberdefender (just downloaded this & got credit)
firewall software -- McAfee
cookie settings -- I just changed this a couple days ago after reading another post to override and accept 1st & 3rd party and allow session cookies.

Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Were you getting credit before McAfee? I have read before (I have no firm knowledge on this one) that others have had issues installing stuff from Comcast and when they removed it things were better. I do have McAfee on my work laptop which is where I do 99.9% of my offers and haven't had too much of an issue. Did comcast install any toolbars on your computer??

Other thought is how long have you had that yahoo account? Have you tried opening a new email and using it? Lots of offers run on the same database systems so if you keep using the same email address it can be causing part of the problem because the offers are thinking you have already completed them before when you might not have.

I'd try a gmail account, myself.

Well, I opened a gmail account and redid some offers and got credit right away for the Dove proage! I have had my yahoo account for MANY years. Prior to downloading mcafee, I was only getting credit about 40% of the time. I did not download any toolbars from comcast. I will try disabling mcafee and see how it goes.

Thanks for the advise!

I don't think McAfee is the problem but if you do want to disable it please use something like AVG Free. A lot of people around here use AVG without any issues.

I think changing emails will do you wonders. Good Luck!

I don't think the problem is Comcast's McAfee, either, because that is what I use and I do really well with offers. I do get a new email address when offers start slow down on crediting and that seems to help a whole lot. Good luck.

AND, very easy to use. You can also go into "Options" (in CCleaner) and choose which cookies to keep. I clean compulsively, but I don't delete my SR cookies.

Is it OK for me to use multiple email addresses when signing up for offers? I don't want to do anything that isn't "legal" here!

Also does ccleaner work better than clearing cookies from internet options on IE?

Thanks!

I can't answer about ccleaner, but I do know that I use multiple e-mail addys for offers and surveys without problems. I have given SR my normal e-mail addy for notices from them and when I shop. I haven't gotten any spam from doing so. HTH:sunshine:

I'm not sure if cccleaner works better or is just a faster / one click way to do it. I clear from IE (also clear History and Temp Internet files at same time).

I get credits just fine, some just won't for me, like Brandarama, but on the whole pretty well.

And, yes, as Pat said also it is ok to use multiple emails as long as they are valid (and aren't using them to get credit more than once here or anywhere else) . Also make sure to check for a confirmation email to click on. Some don't require the click to get credit, but it does verify to the advertiser you gave a valid email which is good for SR's reputation so I click on them all (not all the spam, just the one you know is specific to the offer...like congrats on your Nike vs. Addidas, click here to verify....)

If you use Spybot, make sure it didn't populate a list in your IE block sites:

Tools ---> Internet Options ---> Privacy Tab ---> Sites Button

I had a bunch, once I "Remove All", my credits started flying in.

Good luck!!

Oh, and don't forget to try for the Daily Surveys. That alone w/ the bonus if you can do one every day is $32.80 a month! And if you can get the My Thoughts Count/OTX you can get another $22ish depending on what the credit is for the day (.70 / .80).
