My DH was doing a tire survey tonight and was about 15 minutes into it and it asked how long he expected tires to last. He put in a realistic answer and it took him to the "unfortunately" page!

He's not too happy! :computer:

Weird we had that one last night and had no problems. Credit on the hour. Wonder what went wrong.

i am beginning to hate otx surveys again. i tried to do one this morning around 8:30 and it said to come back in an hour, so i went back at 9:30 and it said i had reached my limit for the day and it has been saying that same thing all morning and i have not taken one since yesterday morning. it is now almost 11:30 and i still can't get an otx survey. UGH!!!!!!!!!!:computer::computer::computer:

I did the tire survey last night for OTX and it was fine for us as well. Crazy OTX.

I do have a question, though (something i probably missed while out of town)...what's the deal with the AMP surveys and how do they relate to OTX....in that, can you do both of them each day?

Since I did the OTX one late last night, it won't let me do an AMP one right now....do I just need to clear cookies, or are we only allowed to do ONE or the OTHER each day? Color me clueless....

We have never received any guidance on these at all. Since we don't offer the AMP one very often, I'm fine with people doing both as long as you don't do the same survey.

THANKS TRICIA for the quick explanation. I'll keep trying on the AMP one after I clear some cookies and see what happens.

Same here.........it stated I "paused" it this morning, but I hit nothing except "next" as indicated. Since then I've been unable to do either the AMP or OTX surveys, despite clearing cookies, etc. I think I'm going to do a good cleaning on the computer, then see what happens.

The AMP survey wouldn't let me take one because it hasn't been 24 hours since I did the OTX, but DH got one (used different email address). It said it would take 20 min and go through a "partner" site, but it didn't take that long, super easy on the environment. Now to see if it credits.

Interesting........I'm getting the same exact thing for both the AMP and OTX surveys. I just went in and used ccleaner plus AdAware, logged back in, but the message is the same. No OTX survey for this household since 3/31/08. Using the same e-mail addy each time and the same demographics...

Squeeee! I not only got into the AMP survey, not only got through it, but I got credit for it!!!!!!

While I was working on getting into a survey I got a message that my session was invalid (in pretty red letters even) blah blah blah...I went back a few pages to where it had a "click for a new survey" button, clicked it, and it actually went to something new. So for me the invalid message wasn't "fatal", not like that sort of message has been for DH trying the OTX surveys.

 I did an AMP survey the other day for the first time, but it wasn't questions are like the other surveys, but it was only offers. It's still sitting in my pending list. Can I remove it and try again? And, should the survey be like GF and the others? Please help! I did do a search in the forum the other day but nothing came up!

Did that clean again with
1. IE's just delete cookie instructions
2. ccleaner
3. downloaded and tried: MilFreeInternet Erase

Restarted Computer and just finished amp survey...now to see if it credits!

The AMP survey I did looked *exactly* like the OTX surveys, with the "burton snowboards" or "sephora/shop bop package" things to click on, and the same appearance of the surveys (until I got into it, then it looked different). At the end, after it thanked me, it did go into a more "offer"-looking thing, and just for fun I went through it to the end like I would with an offer...don't know if I needed to but I did and it credited at the hour.

this is what I get:

There are no surveys available at this time.

We’re sorry, but all of our available surveys have received the necessary number of participants at this time and are now closed. We apologize for any inconvenience. Please be sure to keep an eye out for our next survey invitation!

Yeah, that's the way mine started off, but instead of it going to a "survey" it went straight to offers! Since it was my first time attempting an AMP, I didn't know what to expect. Perhaps, they all out of surveys that day. I'll give it another try. Thanks for the info.:)

Weird we had that one last night and had no problems. Credit on the hour. Wonder what went wrong.

With that survey (tires), do you remember if the miles question was the last one? We didn't get a "sorry" message, but it finished right after that question...

(I cannot believe DH actually got an OTX to work, though, regardless if it credits!)

Make sure you clear cookies (and your computer accepts them) before you do the surveys and keep trying. They really do credit most of the time and your balance grows so fast it's amazing with the surveys.

I think it has something to do with our computers and/or Internet connections. I have had some of the same problems you mention if I take an OTX at my house, but when I'm at my parents' house, they perform perfectly and I get credit pretty much every time.

I have to agree, I get a lot with video's and clips and they never (KNOCK ON WOOD) freeze up on me. I think one time it happened (just recently) and it was with a DS that other's had been complaining about freezing on them.

don't you just hate that - you spend a lot of time and energy on a survey and at the end of it all they say you don't qualify. it kinda makes you wonder what they were looking for in the first place after you answered all of their questions and gave them your honest opinion. sometimes otx surveys are just plain evil but tomorrow is another day.:sunshine:

Yes, apparently their program takes things quite literally, as in 2008-1960 is 48, therefore that should be the number you put in! It can't seem to be fixed to take into account when your birth month might be. Mine is November, but for OTX I have to put in that I am 32 all year, even tho I actually will not be until then. Just a funny thing to remember about OTX. However, most surveys I have done I am not even asked about my age.

Just took an OTX survey on a food item. Watched all the advertising, listened to stuff through my speakers. Then it asked me the classification questions (getting towards the end yay....) and then it switched topics and asked me about how often I watch tv, what days, times etc....then it said sorry you do not qualify. So I know I did it. But where is my credit? :( I hope I'm not the only one because maybe there is hope for me after all. I did one yesterday and didn't have ANY problems whatsoever. Now that I REALLY wanted to get one for the contest, I have an issue. BAH humbug!

jnorth1007
04-09-2008, 06:55 PM
If you didn't clear your cookies before taking the one today then you won't get credit. These are tracked by cookies. You would need to go in and clear your cookies and then try again. However, since you have to keep using the same address it may not let you try another one today since according to the program you have completed one today. If you did clear cookies before you took this one and after you took the one yesterday then you may have hope that it will credit on the next hour. If it doesn't then there is an issue on your end that your cookie wasn't there at the end of the survey so you could get credit. Most of the time when people don't get credit it is because they didn't clear cookies first and the system recognized the cookie from the last survey they took. HTH!

cherbear
04-09-2008, 07:44 PM
thanks Janet. I normally don't have a problem getting credit even if I don't clear my cookies every day. I've been doing really well this month. I wouldn't be so upset if it wasn't the fact that there's only 2 days in this contest and I missed my chance for the OTX credit today. I took mine yesterday during the day so I couldn't get in the contest with that one either. Bummer!

Just so that everyone knows, if you are getting credit without clearing cookies it is a fluke. It could be that your computer is clearing them for you automatically because I can tell you that you should not be getting credit without removing the previous cookie. If you guys want to be sure that you get credit then go in and clear cookies first. If you don't want to do that then you will have to deal with the fact that they won't credit quite often. HTH!

I haven't gotten an OTX for the last 4 days. I keep getting the message, sorry no survey's for you, you must be doing survey's on other sites. Plus I have always gotten credit for OTX's without clearing cookies. But today I just cleared everything up and I am going to go try again.

It means they got the Daily survey, SM survey, and OTX survey all in the same day.

Additionally, OTX recently changed and you have to enter an email address even if it states its optional. It is now there way of tracking us and how often we do surveys. They are now on a strict 24 hour timer and will let you know if you are too early.

I agree with Janet and April above -> if you don't clear cookies you run the risk of the surveys not crediting. I have had that happen to me twice now so I clear before trying. Glad it worked for you in the past but apparently OTX has made some changes so we all need to adapt as well.

OTX recently changed and you have to enter an email address even if it states its optional.

They are now on a strict 24 hour timer and will let you know if you are too early.

Also if you want to avoid being called a cheater or dishonest you must add 1 year to your birthday in 2008 even if your birthday hasn't passed. OTX has a glitch in their system they have not fixed that assumes we were all born on January 1st and we are all 1 year older. So for example, my birthday is in September and it is April. Obviously my birthday hasn't passed but OTX says it has so I add 1 year to my age and voila! no problems!

FWIW, they now have the little button next to email marked red, meaning it's one of the "required fields". I noticed the other day those little checkboxes for signing up were gone, and just realized that email was marked required now.

They sure are on a timer! But they are very very HELPFUL, in that their message tells you when to come back! I've been writing down the time I finish survey (and survey/offer hybrids like OTC, lol) but still, it's nice that they do that.

I can't help but mention that if your birthday HAS passed, don't add a year. If you've had this year's b'day, you're golden. :p

Do you do surveys or click on e-mails for any other reward sites? If you do they will count because they track differently than GF so even if you just click on a link to a OTX survey sometimes it will think you did a survey. That happens to me occassionally

I love getting into a survey and finishing it up only a few minutes before the hour (though today was a bit stressful as I finished it and threw it into pending (not that putting it in pending is necessary, I believe) about 30 seconds before the hour, LOL). No waiting! :p

I barely ever try for OTX surveys, b/c they are so frustrating (if I get that one about videogames, which I NEVER qualify for (nor should I) but it takes way too many pages to be disqualified, one more time I'm going to screech!), so it's really nice when I try, get one, and it credits. :sunshine:

For the MTC or OTX surveys, be sure you are clearing cookies every day thoroughly and you should be able to do them at least every 24 hours. That 75 cents a day adds up really fast!

I think you can only do one or the other each day. SR offers MTC/OTX daily, but the AMP are only put up only once in awhile. So if you are doing the AMP from another company, you won't be able to get MTC/OTX here b/c it is only 1 per 24 hours (AMP & MTC both get the OTX surveys...which are 1/24 hours...)

Yes, I have to do that usually once every 10 days or so bc I end up so late that I don't want to so I'll skip a day and get back on early. Like Friday I skipped bc thurs I couldn't get one until 8pm, so first thing Sat morning I took one at 6am. Got one yesterday and it didn't credit:( I think I learned that you had better always go ALL the way thru the offers at the end! I thot I would see if it credited if I didn't - and it didn't.
Now today of course I get the maximum exceeded message. I really wish that OTX would change their system to let you take one between midnight and midnight - would be so much better than having to wait one hour later each day until you have to skip a day to get back on an earlier rotation. Or at least let you take one exactly 24 hours after you finished the other not 24 hours after it credits. Oh well.

The problem is that the same person has to take ALL otx surveys. That doesn't have to be the same person who takes your daily surveys and your SM surveys but it has to be the same person taking them all the time. If you have already taken OTX surveys since the change over and recieved credit for one then I wouldn't change up. Just to clarify there can be three different people taking the three types of surveys but those three people have to use different email addresses and demographics and they have to continue to be the only ones to take the surveys they agreed to take so no swapping up to get more survyes.

Oh Geez! I just read this post and am really worried/confused. I know the same person has to take the SM consistently and I know the same person has to take the Daily survey. I've been so careful since the "Banning" not to mix them up. During that time, I remember reading about the MyThoughtsCount/OTX and never saw anything about the same person having to take that survey all the time. So, sometimes I took it, sometimes DH took it and who knows just how many emails I used. I never, however, took the same survey twice.

During that time, I remember reading about the MyThoughtsCount/OTX and never saw anything about the same person having to take that survey all the time. So, sometimes I took it, sometimes DH took it and who knows just how many emails I used. I never, however, took the same survey twice.

Same here Jamie, I never remember hearing anything about OTX and even since the ban it goes between DH and I and I haven't had any problem. I just use my email addy and he uses his. But I also always put my email addy in from day 1 with OTX before they required it? I didn't think OTX followed the same rules as GF only that you can't (which OTX hasn't let me ) take the same survey more then once.

Don't worry too much about the OTX ones. I am sure that Tricia will post a clarification for us about wether or not that one can be taken by more than one person or using more than one email. It was my understanding that the rules would apply for all of the surveys but I have been known to be wrong at times. :rotfl: It could happen, really! No, really why are you laughing????

So far, we haven't heard anything about the OTX Surveys. So my main advice would be just to use caution and not go crazy. If you trade with someone on your house every now and again or use 2-3 emails in a month, you should be okay. But if you start changing your demographics multiple times each day just to get a survey or using multiple email addresses to do the same survey more than once, they will catch on and we will all be in trouble.

For the last 3 months, DH and I have had our own separate addys and info for the OTX, and I guess I thot that since there never seemed to be an issue with this, that OTX didn't mind. I thot maybe their main thing was that only 1 survey per IP address be taken, perhaps. It does help that if I can get none with my info that it works with DH info. -- Seems that OTX has made some changes recently tho, like making the email addys mandatory. I hope that they will continue to allow 2 addys.

Thanks for the clarification, Tricia. I do the GF surveys and DH does the OTX. Once in a great while, if he is having terrible luck, I will do an OTX. We each only use our own separate e-mail addys. I use the same addy for GF and whenever I do an occasional OTX survey. With this system, it doesn't seem to let either of us repeat a survey, so I don't feel like I'm cheating the system. We do get dry spells where we can't get one for a couple days (usually on weekends), but then they load new ones and we get lucky again. No matter what, each of us always uses the same demographics.

I think we'll just stick with him doing them. I'd hate to be the cause of any issues.

Thanks so much for the clarification. It's great news to hear that my young adult son and my teen can take these. Back before Greenfield limited us to one email, I could usually get one of them qualified when I couldn't. Plus they both like to do the surveys and take each question very seriously!

Sometimes OTX is fussy. My household goes in streaks. I will go a week and get one every day and then go a week without one. So much of it depends on your demographics. We live in the midwest and I find that for the OTX surveys, no one wants to hear from a 30 year old educator from Wisconsin :rotfl: My husband does better than I do, he is old. hehehe. Not really but older than me and male.

my suggestion is to keep trying. Also, a lot of the surveys start the same way and are actually different so don;t back out if the first 2 or 3 questions are the same because you think it is the same survey, go a few more questions in. :) Good luck!

I agree with bellanlivismom. I find with my husband's demographics, he can qualify once, maybe twice in a week for a survey. With mine, hardly ever do I qualify. I'm also a bit older than 30 (although I'm trying to convince my kids I'm 27 :rotfl: ), and my hubby is much older than 30 ;) .

Interesting though, I'm in the midwest and have an educator job as well. I wonder what's up with that?

I think that the amp survey in the offer list can only be taken once, so if you got credit for it already, I don;t think that you will get credit again. Although, I could be wrong.

The regular OTX in the surveys tab can be taken every 24 hours for .75 credits

Very easy and they should be cleared inbetween OTX and offers that you do. Daily is recommended.

Tools --> internet options --> delete cookies ----> delete temp internet files then you should be good!

okay, I cleared cookies (was that suppose to make all of my dropdown choices disappear in my web browers?) and completed a survey, we'll see what happens. thanks!

update: I got the credit for this one!!

WHOA! Now I've seen everything. I was trying to take an OTX survey and got thrown into, what I think was, a German language survey. I didn't understand what the boxes meant and what I checked. I hope I checked the right demographics so I don't get in trouble...I didn't qualify anyway.

is it me or otx? i have been trying since around 9:30 this morning to get a survey (24 hours since my last one) and i keep getting the message that i have exceeded my limit for the day. how is that possible as it has been well over 24 hours since i took one and it credited. i have cleared out all my cookies and deleted all my temp files so i do not know why this happening to me again. i was having good luck the last 2 days with otx but now i can't get anything. totally confused.

I did great on OTX last month but have only got 2 this month. I guess I am done with them. I keep trying.

Also, I got the exceeded message but that just means to try back later, 8 hours , in the day. You were still inside a time limit window.
