what is with otx today? i have been trying since early this morning to get one and i keep getting booted out and told i don't qualify for any surveys so i wait awhile and try again and now it says i have exceeded my limit for the day. how is that possible as i haven't even completed one?:computer::confused:help me please.

OTX is acting weird today - I have tried several times for a survey and almost everytime I get you don't qualify for the survey - but I have not even answered one question. :rotfl: Is anyone else having trouble with OTX?

i had a lot of problems with otx this morning - not qualifying for any surveys and when i would try again it would say that i had exceeded my limit for the day. i finally had to walk away from my computer for a while and then i tried again and i actually got thru one complete survey and it credited at 2 this afternoon (had been trying since very early this morning). just take a deep breath, eat some chocolate (works for me) and try again. i will keep my fingers crossed for you that you have better luck with otx and that you will get a survey today. have a wonderful monday.:sunshine:

I did finally get an OTX today - but one thing, I keep getting asked about having a cell phone, and I say yes, and every time, am booted out. Must have taken this survey before, but the question is still there?!

This happens to me all the time, it is so frustrating. Sometimes the page doesnt load or stops loading right in the middle of a survey, and then since there is nothing I can do, if I refresh, or close the page and try again, I get that Exceeded the Limit for the day message... but yea how is that possible when I haven't completed one? That gets very frustrating and as a result I end up not taking OTX surveys usually. Its like impossible!

I finally got one, pretending to shop at a convenience store for a drink and now there's an error on the page and won't let me go any further!!

I've been on a dry spell for a long time and was very happy to get an easy one! Wonderful!:computer:

When you get the options even if you have already had those options do you still answer the questions until it says you do not qualify. I find that if I just close it out, it blocks me out of the surveys for the day. Don't know if you understand what I mean, I am probably not explaining it right.

yes i answer all the questions even when i don't qualify and i do understand what you are saying. it just tends to get a little frustrating when you know you have waited the right amount of time and otx still won't let you take a survey. i did get one today though, completed it and it already has credited. thanks for your understanding and have a wonderful friday.:sunshine:

I got a survey this morning which stalled and wouldn't refresh, and then an OTX page comes up saying I have exceeded my maximum for the day. HA - I didn't even get to finish the survey, so I have NOT exceeded my maximum. But OTX does not seem to have anything in place to detect when their surveys don't let you finish, so that you could try for another one. That is annoying, to get shut out of surveys after one had a problem!:computer:

i totally feel your pain. i tried for 3 hours yesterday to take an otx survey and all it kept telling me was that i had exceeded my limit for the day and i hadn't even taken one in over 24 hours. i finally had to give up. why not just walk away from your computer for a little while, grab a cup of coffee or tea and try again in an hour or so - that seems to work sometimes. have a great friday and i hope you can get an otx survey.:sunshine:

what is up with OTX it ask one question that says you are not qualied would you like to qualify for another one than the screen goes blank and says you did not qualify for this survey and does that about 4 times till it says your not qualified try tomorrow?

Well, I just tried for OTX, and I was well into a survey about cable and internet. Said on the first question on a page to choose a certain answer for quality control purposes, and I DID, then I answered the other questions. And then it said I gave a wrong answer and to pay attention! GRR! They must not have coded the choices right, so it thought the one I chose wasn't the one they said to choose.

Has this thread always been in the Member Q&A section? I thought it was in Technical Issues and had to go searching for it!

Anyone get 100% credit (or even close) for OTX surveys? I am usually pretty good but lately I don't know. What's your trick? Do you clear cookies, sign back in and immediately take the survey?

It's been hit or miss with me lately after almost daily surveys. I've been trying periodically throughout the day and still nada. Oh well.

It happens Chad. I have been in a spurt where I haven't qualified for many surveys period. I am just taking off until the 1st and will start up again. I find that if you are really good about taking surveys each day you can go through all of the available ones and run into this problem every now and then. Just keep trying.

Three days in a row when I don't qualify for the 1st otx it then tells me I have reached the maximum. I normally can get them every day... I have had good luck with OTX this month, better than usual - so maybe people who are having trouble this month will have better luck next month, or after a little break. Sometimes it is harder to get OTX after a while if you have been getting lots.
Anyway, today I had one that asked my opinion on a website template and then 4 pages where it asked what product I would choose to buy next time I went to the store - 4 different products with several brands, and just pick the one I'd want to buy. Classification questions, and a thank you page. 2 minutes!!

I also got the cartoon survey and an "error" in the middle. I thought I had missed instructions to get my kid to the computer when it asked me whether I would ask my parents to take me to Burger King. I can't imagine what my parents would say if I asked them to take be to BK!:rotfl:

I just got a OTX survey on computer stuff and I was basically done...1 questions left....those classification questions and it booted me when I was done! That never happened to me with an OTX. Fortuntely I got another one the next try.

I got the same message last night and it was about 36-48 hours since I had done one last. I tried again a few hours later and got one with no problem.

OTX has been very strange the last couple of weeks. I've been having all kinds of trouble trying to get a survey from them.

I think I saw a post about that somewhere else today - the person said that if there were slim pickings for the DS, she did do the OTX thru GF, otherwise not. I know that I usually don't do them thru GF if one happens to come up - but usually I'm doing my DS before my 24 hrs are up with OTX, so I can't get the OTX anyway! HTH!
Also, I just keep putting in my age as if I were already the age I will be in Nov - not taking any chances because I am not sure they did ever fix that age/year issue or not.

Oh dear, I've been typing in my current age, 31. I won't turn 32 til December. Do you mean i should be typing in 32?

If it takes it don't worry about it. At the beginning of the year at the end of alot of the OTX survey's it asked for your age if you typed in your age (and you hadn't had a bday) it basically called you a liar and kicked you out without credit. So we learned to put in what we WOULD be for 08 if we hadn't had a bday and it woudl work. Honestly I haven't seen any like that in a while. It'll ask for my birth year but haven't had to actually TYPE an age in a long time. Maybe an age group like 30-39 et KWIM?

I've had just a few where it asked for my specific age, and I just put in 32, which is what I will be, instead of 31, which is what I am. I was just not taking the chance it wasn't fixed. But maybe, if it hasn't been kicking juliokirkland out, it is fixed?!

Did you happen to get a greenfiled ds rerouted to otx? When that happens to me I close it out (don't want credit for a ds for an otx survey when I can get that separately), but I have to wait a few hours & clear cookies to try OTX or it will give me the sorry come back message.

I've been kicked out of a few surveys. I don't remember if they specifically asked for an age though. I'll probably continue doing what i've been doing. Thanks for the explanation though.

Don't think you are missing anything.......surveys are a luck of the draw type of thing. Sometimes there are an abundance and other times none. I wouldn't get so wrapped up in them. I mean, I do love getting them to credit and all, but I have learned over the years that they are not a guarentee and it is out of the SR families hand as to how many are available or if they will credit.

I would just go about the day and attempt the surveys, hope some are available, and then if you get credit that is a bonus in your SR account.

Yes, and then I tried clearing them again even and it still didn't work. It seems fine for me today, but I have had this happen a couple times in the past few weeks. Sometimes on my first try, sometimes after I have attempted to qualify a couple times.

for some reason otx seems to be on their own internal clock and 24 hours to us might not be 24 hours to them (you never know) so all i can say is to keep on trying and keep on doing what you are doing and eventually you should get one. i do feel your pain as i have experienced this problem a lot lately so just hang in there.:sunshine:

I think I just won't try an OTX for a long while and then come back to them and try again. Maybe they just got tired of paying me. Who knows. Oh well, at least I can still get my daily surveys for the bonus payout.

I agree but that only works if people are reading the threads! Thankfully I know better and make sure I check the survey threads everyday to be prepared when I take one.

That is a good point but let's also try to remember to post some positive things too like when we get super easy surveys so that people will know to look out for them as well. Sometimes it's easier to remember which things are good things versus the many bad things because everything is blending together.

I am getting the OTX error too so I am assuming it is a server issue with the company running the OTX surveys.

Not sure if this belongs here, but I did an OTX survey yesterday afternoon and was also able to do an OTX-through greefield daily survey last night too. :confused: I know you are not allowed to do an OTX survey w/in a 24 hour period and this was only a 6 hour window. I did the survey waiting to be kicked out eventually but I even got the "sr congratulations on the completing this survey" page. Not so sure now if it'll credit.

Still an error message for me too. Funny thing is, I was offered an OTX 2x on the DS, and it went to a page that wanted my age, etc. I wonder if I would have gotten this same error message if I had tried doing one then. Probably!

If I get booted from an OTX, I wait an hour and then try again and it usually works. Sorry you are having such trouble today!! DH got a daily survey and OTX and I completed the SM survey today. Some days take a little longer though. Good luck!

It has been my experience if you get booted out of an OTX then you are done for the day. The only way to get another chance is to keep clicking on "try another survey". If you close the browser then that's it. I don't think their system recognizes the difference.

You may have to wait for tomorrow. Sorry. This has been a tough month for OTX for me. I have hardly qualified at all so I'm feelin' your pain.

Not sure if you tried, but I get that white page sometimes, but I don't exit out, I click refresh, then it loads, usually to the page that has the button to try another survey.

I think whenever you x out of the otx site w/out finishing it reads as you did one / successfully completed one for the day, so I try to avoid ever exiting out until they boot me or give me a thank you.

At the end of mine I had something about Eversave and assumed I wouldn't get credit, but I did...not sure if it's the same page you ended up with. The credit came about 2 hours later.

Nope not you at all, normally I have no problems getting at least 5 a week on average. This month it's really been sporadic. I think I've been lucky if I get 2 a week.

The first one said one direction but when the 2nd quality control question came up it said FAR ___ and indicated the position that was closest to you. If you do the exact oppposite you get through it. The FAR is what made me think about doing it different then what it said. (Well that and everyone posting about getting a hand slap!)

Looks like they typed the wrong direction.

took a survey 3 days ago, it starts by saying you have qualified for a 20 mins survey about food and non alcoholic food products. asks alot of questions about coffee places. the sxurvey takes much longer than 20 mins. a few days ago, it said that i had reached an unexpected error at the very end when i am at 100% of the survey. i didn't get credit for it then, and got the same survey again today. well, silly, optomistic me. same survey, same hour, and again...same error message. this is the web address of the last page that i typed in my income at 99% completion

I just completed this survey and did what you said, and it worked :thanks: It's the site's mistake... the first time they tell you to go to the far __ and it works. The second time, though, they tell you to go to the far one way, but for some reason it only works if you go to the far other way. Thanks again for the help!

I think when it gets to the actual survey the quota is full. This is why the survey stops. It is irritating, especially when you ask your child to come to the survey and then it stops. My son won't come anymore.

I really get aggravated when you get to the END of the survey THEN they ask the "demographic" questions, and say you didn't qualify. They're the same questions they ask at log-in so they should already know. That's wrong to do that.

Marcy, I understand your frustration. Truly, I do. If you've already cleared your cookies and waited a while, tried again, and it's still not working, my advice would be to give it a rest. Take the day off, relax, and things will be better in the morning. No survey is worth that amount of frustration. :sunshine:

Are you getting any of them through Greenfield and closing out instead of attempting/booted out by them?

I've been getting quite a few OTX through Greenfield lately, but I try for them, but don't close out. I think it is the same principle as when going directly through OTX, if you close out yourself it will think you did one, but if you try and fail you can try again.

My other thought might be to check 24 hours after you received credit, but it seems you probably got that at 12 for an 11:30 survey, so not sure.

One thing you need to watch for is that Greenfield often has OTX surveys through them. If you take an OTX through Greenfield in either the Daily Survey or SM Survey, that will fill your OTX quota for the day and you will not be allowed to take an OTX. Personally, I choose to not do the OTX through Greenfield because I go through OTX. I simply close out the screen if it is an OTX survey and try for another one through Greenfield. But... even doing this, I have to wait at least an hour before trying an OTX or it will say that I have reached my limit. If you choose to do an OTX through Greenfield, you just have to accept the fact that you need to wait 24 hours before trying another OTX.

A few months ago, I had trouble with OTX giving me the exceeded limit message no matter how much time had passed. The only way I was able to get past that was to run CCleaner and clear everything out. Since then, I haven't had any issues with OTX! OTX has been very good for me and for most days, I am able to get credit for all 3 available surveys (DS,SM and OTX).

Not to beat a dead horse... but I was clearing cookies normally and it still wasn't enough for my computer I guess. I had to actually install CCleaner and run that to clear up my problems. I usually get 2 or 3 a week, and I'm grateful for that. I keep my expectations low. That way I don't get frustrated with them. I'm sure they only have so many surveys to go around to match each person's demographics. Sometimes, you just have to wait until more are loaded. Don't let OTX or surveys get you down. How do you clear your cookies? I sometimes have things stick around by just using the Delete Cookies through IE Tools, Internet Options.

What I do is similar...

After you do the normal Clear Cookies do this:

Tools, Internet Options, Settings (this is next to the Delete button that took you to clear cookies if that makes sense).

Then the window that opens you click View Files. This will open a file folder.

Check to see if anything is left. If so, just select the OTX file (should say otx, or mythoughtcounts in the name or something), and delete manually.

Also, when you clear make sure all other browsers are closed, and then close the browser you did the clearing from to start a new session.

I use AdAware 2008 now instead of going through IE though. If you have it go to Tools & Plug-Ins, TrackSweep. This will clear everything though, so make sure you know all your passwords, etc.

Just a note on the ad aware...the tracksweep is a separate thing you do, it is not included w/ the normal antispyware run/check.

on the left side menu, there is a button towards the bottom, tools & plug-ins. click that and a menu drops open. click Track Sweep. this will open a panel where you can check off what you want cleared and on what browsers. you check off what you want, then click the clear button. Voila, cleared!

I can get your frustration, though for different reasons...if I get asked one more time about cell phones or video games I quite literally scream NO at my monitor :rotfl: b/c 99.99% of the time I get booted from them. So, maybe there is some peace for you in that you are certainly not alone! Have a great weekend also!

DS are credited by ip address...it kinda is a pain to delete everything but it's necessary if you want the credits! :)

i finally got my otx survey for the day. it was rating celebrities, websites and different brands. finished it about 9:50 and it has already credited. what a way to make 75 cents.:cooldance:

I did a survey about movies yesterday about 1:45, took all morning to get a survey, Got the thank you page... but didn't get credit, usually it only takes 5 minutes or so, or up to an hour to credit. But it didn't credit and it's a new day.
I wonder what happened.....?

Just tried to do my 1st OTX in a few days. Entered my demographics and got a "page cannot load" so I refreshed and it still didn't load. Closed out window and started over again. Then I got the "you've already done a survey - come back in 24 hours." I'm really frustrated the last few days between last Friday's DS that was the 1st one ever that didn't credit for me when getting the confirmation page (vs. some who were lucky enough to get multiple credits), the ice cream offer that wouldn't let me confirm my email, and this. I'm trying so hard to stay on Big Board and just know that because of these techie faults, I'm going to slide off. :cry:
