DH told me yesterday to go ahead and get my b-day present. (Not for about a month or so.) He knows I have been eyeing some things on the Disney shopping site. I can spend about $100! Now I feel pressure. I have never bought ME that much at one time there! I usually buy the kids things, friends things, etc. I am so excited!
I really like the black and white Mickey plate sets that they have. But I cannot get more than 4 for my spending limit. Anyone have these? Are they nice?
I also like the canister set. I have been wanting a new canister set for a long time.
I like the suitcases too.
I also really like the new Mickey desk set. (stapler, notepad holder, etc.)
There is the 29 percent off today. So I may try to purchase something today. There is also the $5 shipping. Not too bad. Do you think if I wait I will do better or worse when it comes to savings? Maybe this is not a big deal to some....but I don't buy things for myself too often, so this is a big fun deal for me!
I am off to look on the site.....So.....any advice?

I would think it was a VERY big deal if I had $100 to spend on ME at DisneyShopping!!!! :mickey: :minnie: I don't have any advice or reviews on products....just wanted to say "HAVE FUN!!!!" :sunshine2:

Post some links so I can see what you are looking at.
Based on what you said I would go with the canister set and maybe the desk set. I haven't gotten the luggage in so I can't vouch for quality quite yet.

Here are some of the things I have been looking at. I would love to have some Disney things in my kitchen without it looking crazy. I think these (besides the desk set) are very classy for a Mickey item.

Ok my vote now seeing the items is for the 4 piece dinner set. I think if you use the code you can get 5 sets for $106 + shipping which is a pretty good deal. I like the desk set but I don't like the price. The canister set is nice but I prefer the table ware.

Oooh fun! And you were just saying yesterday that you've been sooo good & not shopping/looking there! What a magical thing to have $100 for Disney on Y-O-U!! Woo hoo! And I'd for SURE get it today! Afterall, it's 29% off...so maybe you could get more than just one thing!!
I really do love their new M Collection for the kitchen! Subtle, but just still magical! Of those you posted, I like the canisters best, but I really like the desk set too...but it may be (GASP) too much...
Have fun & be sure to let us know what you get! Like Pat said...we're nosey!!
I really like the canisters-they're Disney but subtle.
However, I have a Tigger Stapler and Rabbit tape dispenser that lasted me all of college, so I might get the Mickey desk stuff.

Okay....because I really don't NEED the plate set (though I REALLY want it), I think I might have decided on the canister set - which I DO need. Mine have cracks in them. I also thought about adding this
http://disneyshopping.go.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/DSIProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10002&productId=1222978&orderId=121116507&categoryId=11914
My kitchen has goldish colored walls and has burgundy curtains. There is green counter tops which we will replace to a neutral color in the next year or so. I have my canister set in the corner by my stove with my salt and pepper shakers sitting in front of them. I think the canister set and the shakers will look nice together. I like the colors. What do you all think?
I know....you would think this is such a serious decision....LOL!!! But I don't get this kind of money to spend very often! I WON'T spend it on my own without DH pushing me to do it. So....I need to make a wise choice. The chance won't come again....or at least for a LONG time!

Because I'm in the shopping mood....
any way we could go over the $100 just a little??
You could get the luggage ($49.99) plus the canisters ($69.50) for $99.33 using the 29% off code. Granted the $5 shipping doesn't apply any longer & I didn't go any further than to see if the 29% could be used on the luggage....
But just a thought.....sorry, I'm evil I know...like I said, I'm in the mood to shop!

I DO like the way you think! The luggage AND the canisters....hmmm....never thought about that!
The shakers are cute, aren't they? I wanted the whole reddish M Mouse set of plates, but DH like the black and white ones better. He thinks the cereal bowls look bigger....My family is a cereal family....minus me.
I also like the Mickey mouse head serving platter. But I decided I wouldn't use it enough to enjoy it. I want to SEE my Mickey stuff. It will make me happy!
Thanks Jen....I finally thought I figured it out....then you had to throw in the luggage idea! LOL!!!! My DH really could care less on how much I would go over. He knows that I am extremely frugal so he is pretty good at me doing this at my discretion. I probably could go over by quite a bit and he wouldn't say anything, but I couldn't go over too much. The guilt would set in.

But... she doesn't have a trip coming up soon so would she need the luggage now or maybe she should wait until christmas to get it. I am still all for the plates. I just looove them.
But if you need the canisters I'd get them plus the shakers.

You guys do realize that if we were actually OUT shopping together, we could do serious damage!
Catharine - I know! Those plates are nice, aren't they? I think if I had enough money to get a set of 8, I might jump on it without even thinking. But only getting 5 sets is making me struggle with those. Where is that 50 percent off code when you need it?????

I agree w/your thinking...If I were to get those, I'd want a set of 8 too. Just to be equal to all other serving items in the house!
Now...I'm thinking I'll play a game of "If I had $100 what would I get at Disneyshopping??" Hmmmm...

Well if that is the case then I'd get the luggage, the canisters, and the shakers with the code  I think it would be less than $150 and you'd be getting 3 pieces of luggage, 4 canisters, and 2 shakers. So its quite the bang for your buck.

Oooh...my bad...the 29% cannot be taken off the luggage...however for the luggage, canisters & shakers it totals $109.63 (before shipping)...you're saving $24.36 PLUS the 4% back is $4.39...w/shipping to my house is $133.46...not too shabby!!

I am STILL trying to figure out what to get. I think for sure I am getting the canister set. And also the shakers. I then thought I would have enough to get the teapot and the coasters. Well....the coasters AND the teapot are not available.....I cannot STAND when I want things that are not available!

I love the plates. The only way I will get them though is if I can afford all 8 at once. because with my luck, when I got ready for the rest, they would not have that color anymore and I would be stuck with 5 red, and 3 brown! :rotfl:

Well....I didn't know if I should tell you all. You all obviously were not interested at all! LOL!!!
Okay....here is what I got
Canister set
Salt and pepper shakers
And the one thing that I have been wanting for awhile, but never got because of price is a snow globe! I am so excited about this purchase. It is so NOT a need and so much of a useless item, yet it is so cute and when I look at it, I will be filled with happiness! It is a Winnie the Pooh one that winds up to play the song Winnie the Pooh.
I also got a couple little snack containers that were about $2.80 a piece.
There you have it!
I really wanted the teapot, but it was not available. Booooo.....I also wanted the coasters because we got some new end tables.....but again....not available. Why are they even listed if not available. Never understood that. But because they were not an option, I was able to get my wonderful snowglobe. I have always wanted to collect Disney snowglobes, but they are so expensive. So....now I have my first globe for my collection!
There you have it ladies! How did I do?

Angela, I love those canisters! I would like the all white dishes and canisters if I could re-outfit my kitchen, but I really wish I could just get plates & bowls and salad plates. I have 2 mugs I bought at WDW (tink & mickey sorcerer) that I love and want to get a few more like that one to go with.
As for my $100 to spend (if I had it), right now I think I'd use it on movies/music:
Disney Wishes CD $18.99
Enchanted DVD $19.99
Mannheim Steamroller Meets the Mouse CD $15.99
The Music Behind the Mouse CD $24.99
Meet the Robinsons DVD $19.99
That would be $99.92 before shipping, I'd get $ back from SR and a $15 coupon for preordering Enchanted, so that would essentially cover the cost of shipping, LOL!!

You know what is funny? I don't consider movies and music part of my shopping! Those are just necessities! LOL!!!! I like to keep up on most new Disney movies, so I just get those regardless.....So...in my mind, you still have $100 to go! :rotfl:
I really cannot wait until Enchanted comes out. I very much enjoyed that movie! I have never seen Meet the Robinsons. I have heard mixed reviews on that movie. Is it good?
I also would like the plates and bowls without the mugs. Too bad we can't pick what pieces we want. I have some mugs here that I really like. I have an Eeyore one that is adorable. They have the same mug in Tinker Bell, Pooh, and some other characters. Those are the mugs that I would like. However....I am not sure they have those any more. I may have to look on Ebay someday to see. But there is something about buying someone else's mugs....even after washing them.....I don't know. A little gross to me.
I will let you know how the canisters look! I cannot wait!

ahhhh....the luggage. I will get that someday. Maybe they will come out with another color by then. Didn't they use to have red? I think I am going to order some pins on Monday - the free shipping thing - for the kids for their Easter baskets. They got into pins last year during our trip. We haven't collected any more since, so those will be a nice surprise in their baskets. I figure I might as well order their Easter things online through SR and get some money back for it! I am thinking Bethany might like those Dalmation items at Disney shopping. I should have ordered that yesterday, but I have to think long and hard - usually - about a purchase.

Yeah I really wanted the red but it sold out really really fast.
There are a few pin sets right now that are on sale. They may or may not be their thing but if they want to trade they'd be good for that. I got the villians because we always go in Sept/Oct and it fits in with the time of year.

Yeah, the codes never apply to music or movies :( The $15 is something you will get towards your next order (or maybe it is $5 -- haven't had any coffee yet) when you pre-order the movie.

The salt & pepper shakers are nice. They are mainly red with an orangyness to it. I would not call it burgundy or red. It goes nice with my kitchen too.
The snow globe is AWESOME! It was a nice gift that has no purpose except for looking cute and decorating my Disney spare bedroom!

You got your order in ONE day? Obviously you are taking all the disney shipping luck. ha ha. I've had horrible luck with them since the first time I ordered last summer, and I'm close to throwing in the towel with them. They don't seem to believe in apologies.
If someone ordered some girl shirts (tinkerbell for example), a Little Einsteins toy case thing, a baby toy that looks like drums and some other stuff, I got your package. Might want to call Disneyshopping and let 'em know you need your stuff replaced (while I wait for my stuff and for UPS to pick up this package). I know "switcheroos" happen in shipping, but this is the 3rd of 5 orders that I've had problems, beyond it taking forever and a day to get to me.
Those mickey pseudo fiestaware items are supercute, though!

That is bad luck! I have heard of some bad experiences with Disney shopping. But I have to say, in all the Disney shopping I have done - and believe me, I have done alot, I have only had 1 issue. Something was broken when I bought it, and they just sent me another one - did not need to return the broken one.
Disney have always shipped very quickly for me. Not sure why. If I order on a Monday, it usually gets to me by Friday or the next Monday. Whether it got to my house in a day, I am not sure, at least that is when I got the shipping confirmation. Maybe it was a late shipping confirmation.
I originally wanted the black and white Mickey dishes, however....looking at how much I like the color of the reddish salt and pepper shakers, I would really like to have the reddish Mickey dishes. It goes perfectly in my kitchen.
Now I am going to have to throw myself a birthday party with a list of things needed - okay, wanted - so I can get my dishes! LOL

LOL at the party idea. :)
We already have tangerine and sunflower fiestaware, so for me any of their stuff would be little complimentary items for fun. :p
