Blockbuster credits?

Has anyone had Blockbuster credit? I did the offer about Feb 2, but haven't seen any credit.

That was on an hour one. Since it's a paid offer you can file a TT for it, but it's a hit or miss if you'll get credit. Mine posted on the hour.

My fingers are crossed over here too! I was really bummed when it didn't go through, but I put a TT through, and I am still waiting.:)

I just noticed Blockbuster came through with a credit hold until 4/15. :cooldance: :cooldance:

I did this offer way back on 2/1/08 . I almost gave up on it ever crediting.

:confused:as i streeeeeech for SM status, went thru the Fast Crediting offers and signed up for Blockbuster this am.

While it indeed was showing in my account as soon as i went back & checked it, i see it does has the standard hold until 4/15:(

I must've needed another cup of coffee lol, thought fast crediting meant it would count toward my SM this quarter??

Fast crediting normally means if you do it it will show in your account within 1-2 hours. Unfortunately there was that fraud issue a few months back and Tricia had to instate the credit hold for anything over $3 in order to keep the advertisers working with us. So that is why you see the hold on this one. Good thing though is that you are going to get credit for it :)

Fast crediting refers to the fact that it doesn't have to be manually uploaded and doesn't have anything to do with whether or not there are holds applied. It is more about the technical system they are set up on then whether or not Tricia holds the credit. The credits are held on Blockbuster because you must keep it for the 30 day trial period in order to get your credit. So Tricia has to hold it until the merchant pays so that she can be sure that they won't revoke it. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

It really depends on if you have a blockbuster store near you. If you do then I would go with them because you can take in the movies that are sent to you in the mail and trade them for in store movies. i loved this because it meant that if we had watched all of the movies and wanted something new ASAP we could just run in to the store and trade them out. Netflix doesn't offer this. However, I beieve (can't be sure) that Netflix is a little bit cheaper. It far outweighed the cost for me that I could trade in store though.

I love Netflix. They are cheaper and they have lots of distribution centers throughout the US. I hate blockbuster so I didn't even think about them. Some people love them and the instore thing is a plus but I figure the whole point of me doing mail order is to get it in the mail not to go to the video store. They have also changed their plans and pricing quite a bit in the last few months so that instability has kept me from at least trying them.

I say try one and see how you like it. If you don't like it give the other a try and then compare.

We have both.

We live in the middle of the two distribution centers, we are lucky that our turn around time for both is about 2 days. I am mailing several back today - they will be received tomorrow and by Wednesday, most likely, we will have new movies. I've never personally experienced a problem, but I have read that Netflixs in the past has intentionally slowed up the distribution of your next movie if you are a heavy user.

I find that using Netflix is a tad easier. I like their layout better than Blockbuster. That could be that we've been with Netflix for a long time and I'm just use to their system.

One thing I do like better with Netflix is that I don't have to know which movie comes in which envelope sleeve. With blockbuster, the movie title is on the outside of the envelope - it's covered when it's sealed but I always feel like I have to make sure the correct DVD is in the correct envelope. It's in no way a big deal, just something that takes an extra step and sometimes I'm looking to save those extra steps.

Never tried Blockbuster... We have been happy with Netflix for a couple of years. We don't have cable or rabbit ears...so our only tv is netflix. The turn around time is fast enough that on the 4 out at a time plan we have something to watch most nights.

I really love being able to watch a tv series straight through without commercials, and without having to wait to see the next episode.

I love Netflix. We tried Blockbuster in the past to compare. I didn't think their selection was as good and the turnaround times was really slow. With Netflix we usually get our next movie within a day or two. They also offer some pretty flexible plans so you can decide how much you want to spend.

I have tried both and like Netflix much more than Blockbuster. Blockbuster was a lot slower and they sent me the 2nd disc in a series first.

We did netflix and loved it but then when blockbuster came out with the two free coupons for instore rentals of movies or games we switched the them. We have stayed with Blockbuster solely due to getting those two free game rentals every month (that is equal to the monthly cost of membership for us) and the in store exchange of movies. So we can feasibly have 6 movies out for the cost of 3 at a time. We usually don't but if we were having a party and timed it right we could.

So if you have a local blockbuster and your kids want to be able to rent games for the Wii, PS2, X box, etc. I would consider Blockbuster. If you never rent games or don't have a blockbuster nearby I would definitely go with Netflix.

It is a tough choice, DH and I tried Netflix when it was first a BRAND NEW company with only 1 distribution center in CA and were in PA. That said turn around time was 3 days I think, they were really good. At the time though the new releases were always on a wait. So our choices were limited. They opened a new center literally right down the street the month we decided to cancel. We knew they were putting one on the East coast, but they just didn't have enough of each title. We're talking 6 yrs maybe?

I'm doing hte blockbuster now, I like it ok. We must live near a BB distribution center though bc I'll mail one back on Monday, they'll email they got it on Tues, and Wed I have a new selection in my mailbox. Price is slightly more but the convience of the store makes it worth it. It also works out to 5 rentals you can get from the store per month.

With children, that all play sports or have other activities, the last few weeks have been tough to fit a movie in and it's only going to get harder when baseball and lacrosse start. So you may want to take that into consideration too.

I would guess Netflix has gotten their act together since we had it with more titles and better turn around time. If your not in a hurry or if your busy and only watch a few per week, that's probbaly the way to go.

I've done both, and I really perfer Netflix. Blockbuster does give the free instore exchanges, but you have to pay extra for those (so technically, they're not free.) I seem to get movies from the very top of my queue faster with Netflix, versus BB sending my #3 or 5 choice all the time, when all my top picks are available.

I've also found the turnaround time with Netflix to be a few days faster than BB. BB used to take about 2 days from when I sent it back to get it and another 2 days to ship it out. With Netflix, it's one day each way (send back Monday, new one Wed at home). The other thing is I've figured out the trick to getting the new releases in your hands the day they come out with Netflix. With BB? I'd be waiting months for Enchanted, instead of being able to return it last Wednesday!

Not anymore the instore ones are considered free. You don't have to pay anything extra for them.

As for turn around time, I truely believe it's where you live vs distribution center. I would look into both and seeing which one is the closest to you (distribution center) bc I really believe that makes all the difference.

I have neighbors with Netflix now and know it comes really fast and Blockbuster is a day turnaround.

I have blockbuster and really enjoy it. Once you put the DVD in the mailbox allow about 2 days for them to get them and then to take the next movie off your list and send it to you. That takes another 2 days through the mail. I am not sure how long it took for them to get to my list to send out the first movies. Less then a week I believe.

Location!!!! I think it depends on where your at.
I must be close to one bc I put the movies in the mail and the next day they email me saying they received it and another email saying the next one shipped. So if I returned one on Monday I usually had a new one by Wed. sometimes Thurs, but the turn around time was really fast for me.

Also, you can drop the movies off at your local Blockbuster store and they will check them in for you. They should send your next movie the next business day.
