Do we get credit for Home Depot physical gift cards? Doesn't mention it when I click on them as a merchant.

Thanks.

Because of this-I ordered my Home Depot cards thru Coupon Trade. Those we DO get credit for, AFAIK.

Coupon Trade is actually changing their terms as well that basically it now depends on which seller you buy from on their site whether we get credits. It's INSANE! They gave us a list of like 20 userids that if people buy from them, we don't get credit. Then there are different types of cards that we get credit for and some that we do not.

Basically, a lot of merchants are just screwing us over right now because it's the holiday and we have no choice but to accept their terms or get kicked out of the programs. :(

Tricia - DO you think that after the holidays Home Depot will offer cash back on gift cards?

Probably not. I think they were losing too much money on them. We had people buying $500 at a time.

Yes that would be be.....DH used them all the time. I loved the extra % back. Home Depot is farther out of his way, but he liked that we were getting extra. I guess we will start and use Lowes since it is closer to our house.

Were we not suppose to buy $500 at a time?

Which did you buy from? Home Depot actually changed a few weeks ago.

I bought one $50 Home Depot and $100 worth of Walmart cards from Coupon Trade.

Lovely-well, that explains why I haven't gotten credit for my last two orders from Coupon Trade.

$100 from Home Depot last week.

$70-a few weeks before that. $25 Olive Garden & $50 Disney.

It DOES say on the SR link "check with use as to which merchants will offer cash back....." Lesson learned.

-will there be a list to check for which merchants offer cash back-BEFORE I order from Coupon Trade again?

The only thing that I can say, honestly, is that maybe we just need to remove them from the site. I left them up because the gift card ARE still good deals even without the cashback. But their program is so bad now that we cannot even tell you which cards we will get paid on without looking at each one individually. They sent us a list of 20 different "accounts" within CouponTrade that if they are the seller, we get nothing. And it looks to me like almost every card for sale on their site right now is being sold by those accounts. Maybe we should just change it to 0% cash back like we have with other similar merchants and let people decide if they would want the deals even without the cash back?

Tricia, thanks for letting us have more insight into "this" all works.

I'd definitely support either-

1. removing them from the site entirely

or

2. keeping the site, but changing to (as with Amazon) 0% cashback, but allowing SR members to still get the deals thru SR.

Right now I think it's extremely misleading the way it's worded.

I am so sorry that it was misleading. :( I honestly thought that we would get paid on the majority of the purchases and that the ones we would NOT get paid on would be few and far between. Turns out it was the opposite. I checked their site this morning and NONE of the cards were commissionable. So I removed them.

No worries. I honestly believe that you added that site in good faith.

It's absolutely not SR's fault that some sneaky merchant decided to change the rules in the middle of the game.

Glad to see that they are removed though-less confusion for all parties.

Now, I just hope my gift cards arrive!
