So I got a new computer and I have started off taking surveys again and I think I might have something set wrong. I know what I had to change in the past to get things to credit but I wonder if the newer computers have something else. I have my internet explorer settings set to accept third party cookies and all. For some reason SSI isn't crediting for me. I have taken 2 today and 1 the other day and none credited. I have taken DS, Livesample and my view that have credited. When I try to take an AMP or AMP2 it tells me that my cookies are blocked but I know they aren't because I have checked them a bunch of time. When I try to take a surveyhead i go through the questions and the captcha code and it goes directly to a blue closed survey screen everytime the other day and today. Seems something must be set wrong on this new computer but I just can't figure out what it is. I also noticed that I have an account for something totally unrelated that when I sign in it continually goes back to the sign on screen yet when I sign on from a different computer it signs in just fine. Sounds like a setting right? Any ideas?

Is it IE9 that you are using? I don't have it, but does it have compatibility mode like IE8? You try that to see if it helps.

I know that I can't even use IE8 to make purchases from some merchants on SR, the credits never come through, but they work fine in Firefox. IE9 is still very new, and there have been a number of problems with it being compatible with websites. If it doesn't work in compatibility mode, try Firefox.

Yes it is IE9. I will check out to see if that works. Thanks!

Ok so how do I change it to compatability mode? LOL

In IE8 it's in the drop-down under Tools.

Cool I found it. Now do I just go to those sites and click on that and add them to the list of sites to be viewed in compatability view? Or should I change it to view all in compatability mode. I tried to go in and download a version of IE7 so I could just use that for everything SR and surveys but I haven't been able to find a download that will work with Vista yet. Thanks for all of your help. Im hoping this works. I missed surveys so much. OK not the surveys but the money LOL

Yeah, I'm not sure IE7 is available anymore and certainly you wouldn't be able to have both versions on one computer. I hope this helps. You can add the sites to compatibility mode as they come up I think. But it shouldn't hurt to set it to display all in compatibility mode.

I only just learned about compatibility mode the other day when one of my websites started junking up for a client and I couldn't figure out why it was only on some computers.

So is there a way to set-up the comparability in Firefox? I have IE9 too although I've been using Firefox and my tablet. I've had a lot of surveys that didn't credit the last few days. I got an SS1 on my tablet today, and then DH got the same one for SS2 on the computer and neither one credited :(. I hate spending so much time to do a full survey and then get nothing for it.

I haven't quite figured out what settings to use yet. I have tried using firefox and I have tried switching the compatability and I still have issues with getting credit for everything but the Greenfield daily survey and the livesample. Those credit with no issues. Some of the surveys I haven't qualified for yet so I am not sure if those will credit or not until I actually get one. I can't get to even try a survey in surveyhead because I get the blue closed survey screen everytime I enter the captcha code. The ssi surveys dont credit when I take them so I think those are both settings issues but I haven't figured out what to change. It may just be that they aren't compatible with ie9. I would gladly roll back by ie to an earlier version if it would help and I could figure out how to LOL.

Yeah it's the SSI that gives me the most problems, and sometimes the SS2, although a lot of times that one just posts later. If you figure anything out I'd love to know what it is :-).

I'll throw out the big question...are you clearing cookies each day and after SSI credits, but before taking SSI 2? I don't have a tablet, so I'm not sure how those work.

Janet, for IE, I have
ACCEPT first party cookies
ACCEPT third party cookies
CHECKED override automatic cookie handling
CHECKED always allow session cookies.

Does that help? I have windows 7 on my desktop.

I actually just figured out how to clear the cookies on my tablet, but I do my survey on the tablet, and DH does the other one on the computer, so that can't be the problem :-/.

So I never could get things right with IE9. I think there is just a compatibility issue with it. If anyone has IE9 and uses it successfully I would love to hear it. However, I installed Firefox and got the SSI to credit. I am going to try them all in Firefox today and see how they work and what credits. I'm excited though that I am finally getting things figured out. I sure do miss my old reliable laptop where things always credited LOL. Thanks for the suggestions.

I think I have almost figured out all of my issues. It has been a good day using Firefox. Obviously there is an issue with the compatibility of IE9 because everything I have qualified for and completed today has credited through Firefox. Here is what I have gotten so far!

#2309375 Credit: SSI (2) Daily Survey 06/20/2012 0.50 Credits 06/20/2012 Paid
#2309304 Credit: LiveSample Daily Survey 06/20/2012 0.75 Credits 06/20/2012 Paid
#2309286 Credit: Greenfield/Toluna Daily Surveys 06/20/2012 0.90 Credits 06/20/2012 Paid
#2309279 Credit: MyView Daily Survey 06/20/2012 0.60 Credits 06/20/2012 Paid
#2309263 Credit: SSI Daily Survey 06/20/2012 0.60 Credits 06/20/2012 Paid

Still an issue with getting the blue closed survey screen with every surveyhead they allow me try. Not sure if it is a setting or if they just have alot of closed surveys LOL. I'm so excited that I can take surveys again and get credit for them. Thanks to everyone who tried to help me fix the settings.

I had a lot of issues when I used IE for SR; videos that did not load properly and some crediting problems. Since I switched to FF, very few issues; occasional ones that don't credit but those things happen.

I love FF, it is my preferred browser.

I get the blue screen with SH a lot; I think it just means that I have probably already taken that survey or my demos don't qualify. I get the blue screen several times every day.

Thanks for the info about SH. I haven't taken a surveyhead in months...like 6 or more LOL so I didn't understand why I was getting that screen. I feel better knowing it isn't just me. I will keep trying.

I'm glad it's working for you. I'm still having issues with SSI 2. I've gotten credited once out of the last 4 DH fully qualified for:-P.

Woohoo the SSI 2 worked today! Hopefully it continues to keep working :).
