my IE browser is set to medium (i tried setting it to low & still didn't work) and i can't get the "my thought counts" or "otx" site to let me in-it says my browser isn't set to accept cookies. can someone point me in the right direction? i searched on the tech forum and didn't find an answer.

Instead of using the slider bar for Low/Medium, etc, try here:
Tools---Internet Options---Privacy Tab---Advanced "Button"
Here I have: Accept 1st & 3rd Party Cookies
And also checked off "Allways allow session cookies"
Good luck!

go to tools-> internet options -> Privacy tab -> and then there are four boxes one of which is advanced. When you click on advanced a seperate box pops up and it gives you the chance to click on options for 1st party cookies, third party cookies and always allow session cookies. There is also a box at the top for override cookie handling that should be checked. Try this and see if it works. i was on XP and it had that set up and now that I am on vista it still has that set up.

What verision of IE are you using? (can find here: Help --- About Internet Explorer)
I'm on XP, IE7.
PS: Are you looking at the Privacy Tab or the Advanced Tab. I think you may be looking at the wrong one.
Mine is the 3rd tab from the Left. Privacy. On that tab in the middle somewere are a row of "buttons"
Sites Imports Advanced Default
Click the Advanced button and a little box will appear w/ cookie info.

This is OT Catherine, but yesterday you mentioned something about Firefox b/c of a reference to tabs.
IE 7 uses tabs now also, I'm guessing you are on IE 6, so not sure if you knew that, so just an fyi!
Ok, back OT: Good luck iluvamystery89!

Thanks for that info. I completely forgot about that. My parents are on IE 7 and I hate hate hate it so I refuse to upgrade my browsers on both my laptop and desktop.

I felt the same way and fought it for the longest time, even accidently upgraded it and backed it off. Then I had issues with something and upgraded and now I actually do like it better, having those tabs have really come in handy!

you know the strangest part of all of this. I love firefox for general web browsing at work because I can hide behind my client's website tab! But otherwise I just prefer IE6 over IE7. Not sure why I have a difference between firefox and IE. :rotfl:
