Hey everyone! My boyfriend and I are planning a trip to Disney World for next October to do the tower of terror 10 miler and the food and wine festival. Typically I've booked through AAA, and I've never used another travel agent before. I have a few questions about using travel agents, and I'm not sure if this is the right place to post them, but here goes:

(Any help is greatly appreciated )

if I book through a travel agent and there are no disney deals at the time of booking, but one comes up later, can they apply it to the vacation still?

can I still use disney gift cards to pay for the trip if I book through a travel agent?

Thanks so much :sunshine:

I know they can apply deals, later. And, I think they can apply Disney cards, also. Have fun!

Hi!
Yep, travel agents can always apply the best rate available later. So if free dining or something better comes along, they can make that change. That is the beauty of using a Disney specialist travel agent (wink, wink), because we get all the "deal" announcements and automatically go back and check for you if it is a better deal or not.

Yes, you can pay the trip using Disney gift cards via travel agent.

If you aren't already using a travel agent, I'd be happy to give you some no obligation quotes. And you'll notice in my signature I'm offering at least $25 Disney gift card to Sunshine Rewards member who book through me :sunshine:

Are you planning for October 2014 or 2015? I am planning to do the same 10 miler but in 2015!

Thanks very much for your help Wendy! I've already asked for a quote from another travel agency, and I'd assume it's not good practice for me to ask for quotes from different places?

I'm planning for October 2014, as long as we sign up for the race in time! It seems like the races fill up fast

Be sure and post about the race if you go this year...I'd love to read a trip report!

Just an FYI, the minimum amount they can credit to your account is $20. So if your like me and have 2 $10 Disney gift cards, they can't be applied to your account. So we have to save them to use at the parks.

Wanted to let you know I that at least in answer to your first part. Booking with an official disney agent was the smartest thing I ever did. My agent has been great about getting me a quote quickly and then taking my wish list for ADRs and turning them into a dream. She had all my ADR's done before 7am on the morning they could be booked. Since then she has answered my numerous questions about tours and triple checked on each of the new offers and let me know that I still had the best deal for my package.

I would look for the ones who give a free estimate after you run the travel dates through the Disney website just so you know how much it should be as these agents are not supposed to charge for their service. They could probably answer your question about the gift cards when discussing travel plans with you.
