View Full Version : Radio Loyalty Issues

I just got word from Radio Loyalty that they have made some changes to their system. Apparently there were people clicking through MULTIPLE rewards sites at the same time to earn money from all of us at the same time, which is pretty much fraud. So they were putting some measures into place that were resulting in some of you getting "you have multiple sessions open" errors when you did NOT.

That has been removed and they are now tracking in such a way that will report back to all of us anyone who tries to open multiple windows at the same time. Hopefully our members were not a part of that problem! But if you were getting those errors before and stopped because of it, it is worth trying again now.

FYI...Radio Loyalty has begun emailing us with userids that they believe are cheating in some way. We are required to block those members from using Radio Loyalty or we will lose our contract with them.

I've used Radio Loyalty one way only -- through Sunshine Rewards to get a few pennies here and there. I'm surprised to be accused of cheating.

I have multiple windows open, such as listening to Radio Loyalty while reading on Facebook or checking e-mail but I haven't used Radio Loyalty with a different reward program - I make a point not to do the same thing on different sites because I know that's considered cheating.

Since I got the error message, does that mean my ID is one of the suspected cheaters? I'm not, but I understand they have to be picky.

We have only received notice for 2 members so far and that was weeks ago. We have not received anything new in the last few days. I wonder if this is a problem with their system that they are still figuring out and that is why you are getting the notices? Or I wonder if they are able to see if you open other windows or tabs and are counting that as "cheating"?

I just tried it and got credit but I ALWAYS have another window open while listening with either FB or I'll check the forum website or the SR website to see if the radio gave me credit, never another reward website as I don't belong to any others. Hopefully they won't ban for this as I can't see anyone just listening and not doing anything else on the computer at the same time, how boring that would be and it would be their loss if that were the case if they would think that was cheating?

I agree. I can't imagine anyone just sitting and staring at the screen!!

It's still not working for me :( Anyone else having it not work?

I just checked and I am still blocked. I try to be real careful not to duplicate anything. I use SR for shopping, surveys and Radio listening. I do visit ********s and My Points but I only shop sites (My Points) that aren't at SR. And, I view sites on ********s. No overlapping.

Given that Radio Loyalty has screwed up before my vote is that Radio Loyalty has failed again. I'm still getting that "sustained suspicious visiting patterns" message. It is sheer nonsense. I completed the form provided by Radio Loyalty for questions and comments but they have not had the courtesy to reply as I requested. All of this being done to SR members and SR has been notified about only two members being in violation? Has SR notified these members? From the many forum comments it seems Radio Loyalty has made a "mountain out of a molehill." It is time that SR turns the tables on Radio Loyalty and threatens to sever their contract with them if Radio Loyalty continues to harass SR members by calling them "violators." Their non-response to their own accusations is outrageous and they need to be called on it. No excuses!

Wow, I never even thought that having other windows open would be a problem. I ALWAYS have multiple windows open on my computer. Since my job requires me to do a lot of stuff online I have to have my hand in a lot of different spots at once. I've never gotten any warnings or anything from them though. That being said I've never seen another site that even offers Radio Loyalty, so I don't know what other sites people would use to open it from.

I have to say I agree with you. I noticed that Radio Loyalty removed some comments from its Facebook page discussing the ban. I never got any form, just an error message.

Did you ever hear back from Radio Loyalty?

It looks like they were initially notifying us of "violators" and asking us to ban them. Now they are just doing the bans themselves on their own end.

I think the problem is that what they are calling "suspicious activity" is really just people not watching enough of the ads for it to be profitable for them. They get paid by the advertisers based on the number of ads that get shown on the page. If people are not looking at the pages while the ads are getting shown, the advertisers get angry and refuse to pay. So Radio Loyalty is trying to find ways to make sure that people are actually looking at the ads.

I know it's hard, but you have to look at it from the advertiser perspective. If they are essentially paying you to look at the ads but you have the browser window minimized because you are doing something else, they aren't going to pay anymore. You don't really get paid for listening to the music. You get paid for the advertisements.

They won't tell us exactly what the "rules" are for how people need to view the ads because they figure people will just find ways to circumvent them. But my gut tells me that you have to have the window open (no screensaver on, etc) for the ads to actually be viewed in order to not be blocked out.

We can attempt to stonewall and not send them any traffic, but really it will just hurt us and not them. They have so many different partners that they don't need us. I hate to remove it completely when we do still have members who are making money from it.

I have done Radio Loyalty for awhile, through SR only, and I'm blocked. Yes I do have other tabs open, I'm at work. Had no idea I was violating their rules.

Received an email that contained no specifics on what I was accused of doing that was suspicious, but listed three rather generic activities that they thought possible reasons. In order to be reinstated I had to inform them of what I had done to address these broad possibilities. This struck me as a way of getting the accused to confess to a crime they didn't commit in order to receive a suspended sentence. You either tell them the truth, in essence "go soak your head," since I am not guilty of any of these indiscretions, or lie and make up some mumbo-jumbo that is as non-incriminating as possible so they allow you to be reinstated. How much weight does a solemn promise carry? The next day I received a one-liner email that told me I was reinstated. It would have seemed reasonable to be told exactly what flagged my Radio Loyalty account before being "flogged." Then if the suspicious activity is willfully continued, suspension follows. Instead they chose the worst possible PR response, namely to paint everyone it seems with the same "sustained suspicious activity" brush.

I just keep getting the error message, I checked again today to see if it was still there and it was.

I wish they'd e-mail me, any way to help that to happen? :)

Wow - just found out I was blocked! Really disturbing because I like RadioLoyalty and don't think I have ever done anything to be banned.

And not telling us what we need to not do to not get banned is really just silly! :computer:

They emailed me this week asking why we are not sending them more traffic and I emailed them back yesterday basically explaining that they are getting a really bad reputation among my members. I told them that I have NEVER had such long-term members accused of fraud or cheating like this before and that it is really disturbing. I'm waiting to hear back from them.

It could truly be something as simple as having other windows open while it is playing. But unless they tell us that, we have no way of knowing!

I always have other windows opened and never have had a problem. I would think that maybe if your credits are not as often as the 6 per hour alotted then it looks like you aren't really paying attention.

Thank you for sticking up for us! It's amazing that they have no idea why they aren't getting more traffic from us!

I did post on their Facebook page. Don't know if it will do any good but it can't hurt!

This is the email that I got from them, last wk:

Thank you for contacting us.

We understand your frustration in not being able to access RadioLoyalty. There are a number of different reasons our system may have detected your activity as suspicious. These reasons include, but are not limited to, having multiple players open at once, launching the player in a non-active window, and previous activity patterns that have been detected by the same advertisers, or adware that is present on your computer.

In order to attempt to correct these issues, we recommend the following steps:

1. Run adware or virus software on your computer to identify any issues. A good free one is available here: http://download.cnet.com/Ad-Aware-Free-Antivirus/3000-8022_4-10045910.html?part=dl-&subj=dl&tag=button

2. Be sure to only have one instance of RadioLoyalty open at a time.

3. When you launch the player, allow it to fully load before switching tabs or performing other tasks.

We allow a one time reapplication to be granted access to RadioLoyalty. If you feel you have taken steps in correcting these issues, please reply to this email explaining what steps were taken. We will then consider you for readmission into the program. Please note that if you are flagged again, we will be unable to reconsider access to our platform.

Thank you,

I have downloaded the software, I am familiar with it and trust it. But, that is as far as I have gone, so far. I have either been busy or working so I haven't run it or emailed them, yet.

Just received a request to provide my email address to them to be "verified." An email was sent to me with a fifteen digit SolveMedia Verification Code. When entered in the captcha solution line I was "reinstated" and was able to continue as before. Radio Loyalty either has a serious case of paranoia or is awash in sheer stupidity. Anyone else get this latest communication from them?

What is their e-mail address, so that I can contact them? Or is that not allowed? I'm still getting an error message when I try to listen.

they are doing this on all sorts of sites.

And they are banning people who have done (or at least stated) they used the program exactly the way RL told them to.. not even opening any other windows at all.

It could be a number of things, even down to entering the captchas on time, each and every time (because your sitting there actually watching)

But on another site, RL was requiring the site to completely ban the user, and deactive their account (not just ban them from RL). So they were and then it started coming down that the people weren't violating or doing anything wrong.

It's been a big mess, so much so that lots of people refuse to use them anymore

I stopped doing Radio Loyalty because I found it was slowing my system down and sometimes crashing my browser. I always did RL while doing surveys, but was usually pretty good about getting in when the captchas popped up. The worst thing was when it crashed my browser I would lose the survey I was working on.

Then when they started having these other issues with banning, I decided it was not worth the chance of them telling Sunshine Rewards to ban me and lose my account. I can do 1 survey and make up for what would take 2 days and 5 hours a day worth of time with them.

So as far as I am concerned, if they want my traffic back on their site, they need to get their act together, not me.

The first time I received it and entered it where the Captcha is normally copied. This second time I received the fourteen digit SolveMedia Verification Code and when I went to enter it the box was no longer there. Within a minute I received the normal Catcha request for the normal listening credit. Radio Loyalty is simply out of control. If they keep this up, I'm bailing out too.
