I have a shopping tip that I learned the by the hard way. Do not check out through google or you might not possibly get credit. Also do not shop through a registry like wedding or baby. These both happened to me.

I've had pretty good luck shopping through Target's registries (both wedding and baby). Not sure where you tried shopping from but I know they have usually worked well for me.
