Making a purchase with a gift card

Does anyone know if you purchase something with a gift card do you still get SR credit? Well, I paid with gift card and then the rest went on my mastercard.

Actually, every merchant is different on them. They all tell us that they will not pay a commission (the "official stance") but then we will be happily surprised when one shows up.
