Tell them "no" because they are just trying to cheat you.
Woohoo! I received mine today. I can't wait to try it out! It looks sooooo neat!
Thanks so much to the SR team!
I received my letter today -- but no treat. The envelope was in great shape and was taped closed -- don't know if you sent it taped or not.
The letter makes it sound really cool and it was a very nice thought by the SR crew. You really treat your members special. :sunshine:
Thanks SR team! Fantastic!!
Well at least you know it's a hot item if people in the post office are walking off with them!
I would definitely file a complaint with the post master, bc something is off.
Mine was in fine condition, not opened nor taped and no extra postage was required! lol
It's weird because my envelope was totally fine. Not even a mark (no tape, no slit, nuttin') - no sign of tampering, but anything's possible in this day and age. If so, how sad and pathetic.
Mine was a little scuffed up and had a small tear on the corner with a little sticker on the front from MY post office saying that it was received damaged. No extra postage was asked for.
Received mine yesterday. Very cool gift! This will come in handy for geocaching :) Thanks again!!
BTW, envie was in OK condiition...some small holes along the seams.
Yea!! Received mine today in a perfect envelope...i've already thrown it in the suitcase for disney next month!
Mine came today in a special usps envelope for damaged mail. The original was ripped, but the gift was there!
I have to say this was such a perfect gift at the perfect time. I just ordered one 2 weeks ago from (I can't say where b/c it will give away the surprise!) and got the last one and dd was so bummed b/c she wanted one also! Now we each have one and she says those SR guys are psychic, they always send just what we need just when we are needing it!
Thanks!!!!!
how very odd that some are torn up and others aren't, it just doesn't make sense, they all go through the same machine when they leave, so maybe its the machines that process them upon arrival.
Well, I got an empty envelope in a USPS baggie but no "surprise".
I'm grateful thought because my $400 Disney gift cards did arrive but in a ripped up envelope too! Whew!
I just talked to the post office in my city and they said that it didn't happen there but that they guess that it happened in Indianapolis at the "automation" point. They said that if one envelope gets caught, it can rip all of them that come after it until they stop the machine. That just makes me want to cry. :(
Makes me want to cry too...all the trouble and expense you had to mail these out to us and then to have all this happen to a lot of us. Glad some got delivered successfully but my envelope never even arrived at all, it probably got totally chewed up?
Just wanted to say thanks! I got mine the other day and I can't wait to use it. It will be very handy!
My DH actually works with these machine in the postal processing plants. He showed me pictures he took of the machines - all the wheels, gears, turns. It's difficult for regular envelopes with bulkier things in them to navigate all those twists and turns, so a lot of times the machine gets backed up because the envelope can't go thru. So he, and other electronic techs have to hurry, shut down the machine, and fix the issue. Meantime, of course, envelopes can get ripped and items lost.
I guess there are machines for processing regular envelopes, and ones maybe for the padded envelopes. Or it could be just that it easier for the padded envelopes to go thru the machines with bulkier things in them.
I don't understand it all, of course. But at least I have learned that the PO wold rather I use padded envelopes to send bulkier items!
Just wondering . . . was every SM supposed to get one? I became a SM for the first time this quarter but never received anything. My first thought was that new SM were not supposed to get them. But with all of the reports of people not getting them, I started to wonder and thought maybe I would ask. There's always tomorrow . . .
Thanks! Now I really want to stay a SM!!:sunshine:
With a lot of posts of the envies being torn up and gifts being lost, have you thought about a padded envie or a tyvek envie instead...probably a bit more to send, but it may even out without all the re-sends.
Maybe along those same lines, is there any way that we could have an option to contribute some of our earnings back to Sunshine Rewards IF we so choose? The money could be used to offset postage, etc. Not sure of the legalities or logistics of it, but I think quite a few members would be willing to do this if possible!
I'm sure things are getting hard for Trish, just like the rest of us. I'd be willing to help. Anything not to lose sunshinerewards.
Debbie
Oh, theres no danger of losing SR, we are going strong.
BTW...be sure to check out the auctions for previous SM gifts.
And, if you didn't get this one, be sure to open a TT and I'll send one out as long as I have them left.
Tricia - I'm so sorry this has happened. I've never EVER had a problem receiving something from SR before this and I instantly knew it was just a little mishap. I'm sorry that it's turned into more than just 4-5 folks being impacted. As much as I love SR mail, the SM gifts are not what KEEP me a super member. If you need to find a more sustainable way, I'd totally understand and not feel slighted in the least.
i feel the same way. just being part of this community makes me feel like a sm all the time. i don't need the gift to confirm what i already know - this is a wonderful place to meet people, exchange ideas, shop and do surveys and i will continue to do all of that for many years to come. the sm gift is nice but it is not the reason i am here. long live sr and everyone connected with it.:clap:
And I 4th that! :sunshine:
This is the same way I feel. I know it takes a lot of thought, time and effort to come up with a super member gift each quarter. I have LOVED the ones I've gotten, but I wouldn't feel slighted in the least if you decided not to send them anymore, especially in view of the postal problems and increasing costs. I love being a SM and I never even remember that there is a gift involved until after it is sent out and somebody has posted.
That being said, if you still feel strongly that all SM's should be gifted in some way (which is not really necessary in my mind), you might want to consider a gift by a credit to each SM account instead. Even though my SM gift was "lost" by the postal system, your kind thoughts in the letter were enough to make me feel appreciated. Thank you, SR family.:clap:
WELL SAID! I too enjoy the extra little gift and the very appreciative letter that comes with it, but if SR needs to dispense with the SM gift (it won't keep me from being and staying a member :sunshine:) or find another way, then by all means.....WAY TO GO SR!
I think we all agree we love SR, especially its staff, and our SR "family!":hugs:
