Lori - yes i always clear my cookies once the survey has credited or when i get kicked out of it. is there something else i should be doing so i don't have so many problems with otx? i don't seem to have these problems with my ds or my sm surveys - only with otx. any suggestions?:sunshine:
How do you clear your cookies? I sometimes have things stick around by just using the Delete Cookies through IE Tools, Internet Options.
What I do is similar...
After you do the normal Clear Cookies do this:
Tools, Internet Options, Settings (this is next to the Delete button that took you to clear cookies if that makes sense).
Then the window that opens you click View Files. This will open a file folder.
Check to see if anything is left. If so, just select the OTX file (should say otx, or mythoughtcounts in the name or something), and delete manually.
Also, when you clear make sure all other browsers are closed, and then close the browser you did the clearing from to start a new session.

I use AdAware 2008 now instead of going through IE though. If you have it go to Tools & Plug-Ins, TrackSweep. This will clear everything though, so make sure you know all your passwords, etc.
cglaura - what you have described is exactly what i do. i also have ad-aware 2008 and i run that every couple of days plus my husband installed a program called avast that checks for viruses and that runs every night. guess i will have to resign myself to the fact that i just can't get an otx survey every day and take what i can get. if i can get between 3 and 4 a week i should be happy with that and not get so frustrated and upset - after all, it's only a survey but that 75 cents does add up every day.:thanks: for everything and it did help a lot. have a wonderful rest of the weekend.:sunshine:
Just a note on the ad aware...the tracksweep is a separate thing you do, it is not included w/ the normal antispyware run/check.
on the left side menu, there is a button towards the bottom, tools & plug-ins. click that and a menu drops open. click Track Sweep. this will open a panel where you can check off what you want cleared and on what browsers. you check off what you want, then click the clear button. Voila, cleared!
I can get your frustration, though for different reasons...if I get asked one more time about cell phones or video games I quite literally scream NO at my monitor :rotfl: b/c 99.99% of the time I get booted from them. So, maybe there is some peace for you in that you are certainly not alone! Have a great weekend also!
it's funny you should mention cell phones. i get that question almost every day and every day i say yes i have a cell phone and it kicks me out. guess it doesn't like that answer either.:rotfl: :thanks: for all your help - you've been great and very helpful. appreciate your understanding and it's nice to know that i am not alone with my frustration with otx (we should stick together and maybe lobby for a different survey company - one that actually works - what do you think?).:sunshine:
OTX really doesn't want me today! When I click on the link, instead of getting sex, age, race, etc., I get "This offer is not available in your area."
funny you should say that - i got that same message when i just tried to do a sm survey. wonder what's going on?:confused:
I've been a member for about a month and haven't had any problems until now. I did the OTX survey on the 30th and the 1st, both days completed with no problems but haven't received the credit. Has anyone else had this happen lately? It's kind of frustrating :computer:to give up an hour and get nothing!:thanks:in advance for any thoughts.
i totally feel your pain and frustration about otx. do you clear cookies after the survey has credited or before? the reason i ask is that if you clear your cookies before it credits i don't think you will get credit as otx relies on cookies for crediting purposes. does this make sense? I feel your pain GeoEngr. I did an OTX on cellphones last night, then went to bed, expecting to find the credit in my account when I got up this a.m. It didn't happen.
I was pretty crushed -- had done that OTX, a super member survey and one of the health freebies, and not a one credited.
Thanks again. I will give it a try this afternoon. Keeping my fingers crossed that I get credit.

Longest survey ever on washers/dryers and it locked up on section H - like 30 minutes into it. GRRRRR....:headache:

guess it's not my day for an otx survey today. been trying since noon and i keep getting the page that says i have reached my limit for today. oh well, what can you do except keep trying. it has been over 24 hours since my last one was done and credited but i think their 24 hour clock is slow or something. as they say, que sera sera - whatever will be will be. if i am destined to get one i will, if not there is always tomorrow and i will not stress out about this. have a wonderful saturday everybody.:sunshine:
i did finally get one at 5:30 tonight so i think i might pass on one tomorrow since it took me 5 1/2 hours today just to get that one. i usually get between 3 and 4 otx surveys a week - it depends upon the week and if there are any surveys available. i used to stress about not getting these but i decided that if i get one i get one, if not i can always try again tomorrow. after all, it is free money so i'll take whatever i can get. just keep trying and i know that you will get more than 1 a week. keep on smiling and have a wonderful saturday evening and a great sunday.:sunshine:

Just got this survey and thought I'd try just for the heck of it. It's NOT fixed yet. What a ripoff. I kept thinking about your post the whole LOOOOONG time I was taking this survey. That one was rather aggravating even if it had credited but not crediting makes it even worse. :headache:
Forgot to check here before I did my OTX this morning. ARRRRG! 55 Minutes, get all the way to the end and get an error. So Frustrating
It took me a while this morning to get a survey but once I did, it was on beer, it went smoothly and was complete in about 20 min. I got credit within an hour.:cooldance:
I have gotten 6 OTX surveys this month!!!!
When I click on OTX Survey.. It sends me to GIve us YOur 2 Cents.. I took the survey, but not sure if it will count... I was having trouble with it about 9:30, and this is what comes up now... Can anyone verify the correct link??

Update.... Well, that was quick... I guess it does count... I was credited by the time I Got back to sunshine rewards.... Is this something new?? Because I haven't seen it before...

Long, Long Boring survey on television viewing habits. FINALLY made it through to the end!
otx is doing it to me again. for the last 3 mornings i have been able to get an otx survey early (around 4:30 - yes i don't sleep) but today it has been telling me since 4:30 that i have reached my limit for the day. how is that possible as it has been well over 24 hours since i did my last one and it credited at 5?:confused: guess their 24 hour clock is screwed up again or they don't know how to tell time. will keep trying and if i get one i get one, if not there is always tomorrow. hope everyone has a great saturday and maybe someone out there can say a little prayer for me so that i can get my otx for the day.:sunshine:
it has now been almost 4 hours since my last post and i still can't get an otx survey this morning. getting a wee bit frustrated about this as i don't understand what the problem is.:confused: i've done pretty well so far this month with otx surveys so i really shouldn't complain but when you know that it has been well over 24 hours and it won't let you take one you tend to get a little "pissed off." that ends my rant for the morning. i hope you all can get your otx survey today and keep your fingers crossed for me that i can get one too. happy saturday to everybody.:sunshine:
i'm not usually a quitter and i am a very persistent person but after trying to get an otx survey for 8 1/2 hours today i am now officially giving up for the day. guess i can relax now and possibly do some shopping and spend some money. it would have been nice to get all 3 surveys today but it wasn't in the cards for me today. oh well, there's always tomorrow to try again. have a great weekend everybody and i hope your luck is better than mine.:sunshine:
