Greenfield is directing me straight to their "join GF" homepage when I try for a survey. I've also had 4 "mystery credits" show up in my history, 1 on 1/7 and 3 for 1/13. I haven't really qualified for a survey since 1/2. Any tips?:thanks:

I have no idea about being redirected, but the mystery credits might be from surveys that didn't take you back to the SR congrats page or a survey that didn't credit when it should have. I wouldn't worry about those.
Weird to know that the redirecting thing is happening again. I don't *think* it's supposed to, so I hope the bigwigs see this!
I have another problem besides being re-directed to the GF website. I finish a survey, get the congrats from GF and am told will be redirected shortly, then get a message that this offer is not available in my area. I don't know if it is a technical glitch or what. I am completing the surveys, so I don't know what I can do (besides file a trouble with survey report, which I have done each time!). Any thoughts?
Just so I can get a handle on it, how many of you are getting redirected to GF? If there are a few, it may be a spyware issue. If there are a lot, can anyone give me a URL or a screen shot?
When I try for a GF survey there aren't many options (lately). I click on the "start survey" button and I'm almost always re-directed to GF home page to sign up. When I'm not re-directed to their home page, I too, am getting the "offer not valid in your area" message. I have not had a successful survey completion since Jan. 2, because of the re-direction. I've only tried it once, but the SM GF survey did the same thing as the regular GF suvey. :thanks:
I do have a program that scans and quarantines overnight daily and doesn't seem to have problems elsewhere. I did download that Microsoft security patch a few weeks ago. I also went in and "reset settings to a prior date" to get rid of some of the junk. I did remember to reset everything when I did that. I unhooked everything, even modem, as someone in another thread suggested. The "geek squad" even told me everything was ok, after they looked at it. My operating system is Vista. I'm totally clueless... Any ideas would be awesome!
I also have spyware, but since I have been getting the "Not available" message and being re-directed to GF to sign up, that has not changed. Previously, I had been getting surveys many days. I have Vista, and I am wondering if a new security patch downloaded that may have messed things up? I am wary to do anything with the Spyware, since I don't know enough about computers to not mess up other things! :computer:
This morning I did a GF DS, got to the end and got the following message "offer not available in your area" then "internet explorer cannot display webpage. My fiance did the GF SM using his demographics as suggested in another thread. The same exact thing happened. I just don't know what to do besides :computer:
:thanks:
Ok, just got routed to the GF site to sign up. Here is the URL:
http://www.greenfieldonline.com/Traf...=4&utcoffset=5
I have gotten credits for the surveys I completed that the got a "Not available in your area." message about. I filed reports on the GF page about them, so maybe that helped?
:thanks:
Thanks Tricia! You're the best!
Did it ever get figured out why some surveys are being completed, but then get re-routed to a page that says, "Sorry. This offer is not available in your area," with an IE error message following? I have actually gotten credit, but it is now happening in both DS and My Two Cents surveys, and I am not sure if there is anything I can do, or if I am the only one?
According to Greenfield, it is either a spyware or a cookie issue. They recommend totally clearing ALL of your cookies and trying again.
I just cleared cookies (and all browsing history) before doing a Your Two Cents survey. Got to the end, and still got the error message after completing. My anti-virus software needs to be updated, so maybe once I do that, I am hoping I will not have any trouble. Thanks for checking into this so many times!

I also did what GF suggested and am still getting directed to GF's homepage to join. When I'm blessed to get thru and complete the survey, it says the exact thing you're experiencing. At this rate, I won't keep SM :( but we'll keep trying. Is it possible to see any site activity for us for the last few days? At least we'll know somethings getting thru. :thanks:
Ian getting the same "Sorry. This offer is not available in your area" with the offers. I put in a TT with Angie. But it has not cleared up yet. Iam not going to make it to SM if this keeps on happening.:computer:
The strange thing is that we are only having the three of you report these errors. For two of you it is on surveys and for one it is on offers. For the surveys, I can only think that it is spyware on your computer. I say that because I can see another affiliate getting credit for your surveys. So you must have a toolbar or program running that you don't know about.
As for the offer issue, we cannot find anything at ALL. Unless it is a ban of your IP address by the advertisers?? No one else is reporting it, and we don't see anything at all on our end. :(
What software are yall running to clear things out? You might need to change software so that there is a better chance that the cookies will get cleaned/spyware found and cleaned.
I have Norton Internet Security 2008. I am about due for new software, so I am thinking of changing to a different one. I got the same error message, but I just ran a disk clear through Vista. I am still hopeful!
You might want to pay a visit to the common software thread in the technical issues section to see if any of those would help you out. I personally hate Norton because it missed some things on my computer but other people have luck with it so it might not be your problem.
I have found that malwarebytes has picked up some stuff on my computer that other programs have missed and it is free.
Ok, I have read the most recent posts with ideas. I currenty have Webroot Spy Sweeper and Norton 360. I didn't even think to look to see if there was a thread for different software, thank you! I am not at all a techy person, maybe someone could walk me thru what I should try. Should I first delete/disable Webroot and Norton before going to software link on here and downloading stuff? From the products in the link and most recent posts in this thread, which should I try? Can I have multiple programs and combinations or just 1 at a time?:thanks:
There just might be hope after all!!!
You can run multiple programs without a problem except for antivirus. So I would leave Norton alone and try downloading Adaware, spybot, and ccleaner and give those a try. When I run them, I close all of my programs so nothing is running except those things.
I downloaded adware, spybot, and ccleaner and ran all 3 with alot of junk to clean out. I ran Adware 3 times first and it was still picking out stuff to get rid of. After that, I then ran the other 2. I still might add malwarebytes to the list for later today. This took me over 5 hours and my eyes are googly. I will take a break to watch part of the Inauguration then see if I can get a survey. Hopefully the problems of being re-directed directly to GF and getting the "sorry this offer is not available in your area" message after trying to finish a survey will be resolved. Thanks a ton for all the tips and your patience. I'll post what happened.
I was never able to restart my computer after downloading the spyware stuff and running sweeps. My mouse wouldn't work! I took everything to the "geek squad" guys and he first checked the mouse. I had to replace it but it was under warranty. We used the recovery disks that come with your computer and redid everything back to manufacturer specifications (crash). The technician said that it is one way to get rid of unwanted spyware on a computer. I'm not sure about everything I downloaded, (if it worked or not). It was all erased with the rocovery. I'll try for a survey after a while and see what happens. I also bought new software, Spy Sweeper with AntiVirus.
Oh no Loretta. That is always my last ditch effort when things go wrong - restore to original. In fact I just did that with my home computer because I had been meaning to do it after my ex installed Norton antivirus (with free viruses! Yay...NOT!) from one of those online file sharing places years ago. It had been in quarantine the whole time but I really needed to get rid of it. Good thing is that my computer is great again.
Good luck with the DS today.
OMG!!! I actually went straight to a survey 2 different times, didn't qualify, tried again and finished it AND received the SR page!!!
:rotfl: Now I wonder if my activity from a little while ago can be seen. I'd love to attempt a SM and OXT but when should I clear cookies? I did before I did the GF. I'll be so happy if things get back to working. :thanks:
Go ahead and clear. Daily surveys report back by userid so you're ok clearing and trying something else.
My daily GF survey from yesterday credited!!!:rotfl:
