Dollar Rental Car and AMEX

For anyone needing a minivan rental, Dollar has a special going on now thru May 31st. Use your American Express card to rent a minivan for a wk and get it for $177. We were going to fly, but one of us is chicken, so we are back to driving. It is NOT me. One of my best friends is going with us and she is afraid to fly. Because our cars are too small, for travel, and to save on wear and tear, we rent a van. The girls and I really wanted to fly and with the cost of renting and gas, flying wasn't going to be much difference. Until I found the Dollar deal. We have the van for under $500. Add in the cost of gas and overnight stays coming and going, we will break even or maybe come out better.:)

To sweeten the deal, naturally, I went thru SR (3%) and I applied for the AMEX card with the $20 credit. And, this means our vacation starts one day earlier because we leave in afternoon, travel halfway, spend the night and get up and finish the next day.
