Really Big Coloring Poster Review (and Great Deal!)

Published by under Babies and Kids,Daily Deals

Really Big Coloring Poster

My kids are right between the age of kid crayon coloring and adult pencil coloring. I haven't seen them color in years except for school projects. When given the chance to review one of the "Really Big Coloring Posters" from Marbles the Brain Store, they jumped on it.

When they say "really big," they mean it. I expected just some bigger than normal paper size coloring sheets. The poster we received was as big as our dining room table! I asked for the "Let's Color America" poster because I thought it would be a fun way to learn fun facts about different states but a geographic reminder of where they are. The poster is 5 feet by 3 feet and has just enough detail that can spend a fair amount of time on each state but not such small lines that kids get frustrated by not being able to stay in them.

These posters would be great for:

  • Homeschooling
  • School classrooms
  • Rainy day projects
  • Group projects
  • Family pizza night

For the state poster, you could even spend time researching what each of the different images on the state means for that state (my daughter actually didn't know one of the Indiana ones until I reminded her!).

Just to have an idea of how big this poster is, look at this image of it with a standard ruler at the bottom (most coloring pages are about a ruler long):

Watch Star Wars: The Force Awakens for Only $1 (Family Friendly Version)

Published by under Movies, Music and Books

starwars-vidangel

Whether or not you saw Star Wars: The Force Awakens at the movie theatre, you most likely want to see it now that it is available online. Why spend up to $20 to stream it when you can get it for a final price of just $1 with VidAngel?

How does VidAngel work? Essentially you are buying a copy of the movie, watching it, and then selling it back. But it all happens very seamlessly. You can use various streaming devices such as Roku, Chromecast, and Apple TV.

Even more, VidAngel provides various filters on the movies to make them more family friendly. Each movie comes with warnings specific to the movie and you can choose to remove things like bad language, alcohol or drug use, sex/nudity, and violence.

There have been so many times I wanted to let my kids watch a movie but there was just one part that I thought was inappropriate for them. It's a shame because you wonder why they had to throw that word or scene in to a movie that would otherwise be great for the family to watch. VidAngel takes care of that for you.

If this concept is interesting to you, you'll need to read the fine print on how all of it works. You do get charged $20 up front because you are technically buying the movie. You then get your credit back to your account later. You can either keep watching movies in this way with the credit in your account or you can apply to have your remaining money credited back to your credit card. VidAngel is an interesting way to watch movies, especially for families.
